Only thing i laughed at is when Harvey Updyke said the reason he poisoned Toomer's Corner was because "he had too much bama in him"
Think its a little underrated. The part where Dickerson talks about receiving the gold trans am from Texas A&M and then not signing with them was awesome.
And Craig James might've killed 5 hookers but he was damn good; didn't realize that until I watched it; always thought of him as the hooker guy that said stupid, distracting shit during my favorite cfb games.
They should do another one expanding on the Southwest Conference or just recruiting in the old days in general. The fact that 6 of the 9 programs were on probation or investigation is hilarious.
I would probably sell my soul to read a book/watch a show where CFB players past & present honestly listed what they were offered by coaches/boosters/bagmen and what they took
USC football under Pete Carroll will be an ESPN 30 for 30 film shown Oct. 13 This volume of the series will start Oct. 13 with Trojan War, a look at the highs and lows of Pete Carroll’s nine years at USC, then move to northern California Oct. 20 for Down In The Valley, an examination of the fight to keep the NBA’s Kings in Sacramento. With the anniversary of 9/11 approaching, the next installment in ESPN Films’ 30 for 30 Shorts series will look at President George W. Bush’s ceremonial first pitch at Yankee Stadium to kick off Game 3 of the 2001 World Series, just seven weeks after the September 11 attacks. The 23-minute film, directed by two-time Academy Award-winner Angus Wall and executive produced by Jim Gray, relives that anxious October night and the days leading up to it with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews from President Bush, Derek Jeter, Condoleezza Rice, Joe Torre, Rudy Giuliani, Billy Crystal, George Tenet, Bush family members, Cabinet officers and Secret Service agents. “First Pitch” will premiere on Friday, Sept. 11, on SportsCenter immediately after the national moment of silence, as well as onGrantland.com and ESPN.com. It will also air that evening at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
As posted in the other thread, I think the McCartney one will be good. No one gives a shit about cu football now but that was a polarizing program with a ton of good story lines in the late 80's & early 90's.
McCartney was a religious fanatic hc who turned around a bad program by recruiting a bunch of thugs. Thugs proceeded to run rough shed over boulder, causing racial tensions between boulder police and the cu football program. McCartney's daughter also got impregnated by two of his players. One of those players who impregnated his daughter was the star qb who end up getting cancer and dying during a Cinderella undefeated season.
The Tyson one will be cool, that all went down in my mid to late 20's and per my username, I was a big fan so I'm sure I'll get a lot of nostalgia out of it. Holyfield v Bowe 1-3 would be good too, those were huge fights and you had fan man or whatever, crazy scene.
Yes I think this one could be very interesting and I'm sure they will interview Tyson saying crazy ass things
The Tyson one could be awesome as long as it's not like that stupid one they did involving Tyson and Tupac.
Feel like "the guru of go" the hank gathers one, Is pretty underrated. It's prolly my second favorite one behind the two escobars
This isn't showing up on my guide. What time/channel? 9-11 on ESPN? It has that blocked off in 4 30 minute blocks of TBA
This is probably the most exposure our program will have had since the 2007 Independence Bowl and the Darrell Scott recruitment that spring.
Watching the Four Falls of Buffalo right now, I didn't like the Bills (mainly because of B. Smith, Kelly, & Reed) at the time and I remember laughing so hard when Norwood missed wide right. Now watching him talk about, I just feel so bad for the guy
Apparently there's a new one on the 85 Bears team coming out later this month. They also had one about Kevin Johnson while he was Mayor and efforts in keeping the Kings there, but because of his sexual misconduct charges, they pushed it from this past fall. 85 Bears sounds fun.
In college, I crashed a 1970's themed costume party dressed as Jim McMahon with his Bears jersey, sunglasses, and a POW-MIA headband. The host of the party tried to fight me when I told him I was from the future and predicted that Reagan would become President.
my m-i-l is related to Marc Wilson and when I met him I asked him two questions 1.) Why was Tecmo Marc Wilson so bad? 2.) What was Jim really like? he didn't answer the first question but as to the second, he loved Jim
