Fuck yeah, I am thinking of going to see this show. Let me know how it goes. Rotting Christ is one of my current favorite bands. They sound great on their live records, too.
Spoiler: Rotting Christ - ...Pir Threontai Spoiler: Rotting Christ - Live In Kharkiv Emma colonelrascals
I'm finally going to get to see Crowbar in December. Love me some Crowbar. High on Fire is headlining and they should be good too. Like their new album.
Never been the biggest Crowbar fan but I'd hit that show just to see how the heaviness of the two bands translates live. I have been a fan of this song since it came out in '95
TIME WILL BE THE ONLY FACTOR. Yeah that's one of my favorites. Probably my favorite album of theirs as well.
Of all networks, amazing that CBS allowed Ghost on and to be in full Papa garb while "healing" people Saw Parkway Drive earlier at Anaheim HOB and made it home in time for Ghost on Colbert, great night.
I don't understand the obsession people have with this band. Edit: No offense to Ghost nuts, I'm into some bands people laugh at like Anathema and have been for nearly 25 years so I shouldn't judge.
As far as Occult Rock goes give me Year Of The Goat over Ghost. All Them Witches (psych/blues) is finally catching on after lots of touring.
I think the Satan stuff is pretty funny, but I just flat out like their music. I think they're really good song writers. I also totally understand why people in this thread wouldn't be crazy about them.
Obsessed? It's a good band man. They make good music and they have a fun gimmick. It's really not hard to understand why people might enjoy them. For me I like Doom Metal a lot and that more 70's inspired sound. Plus it's nice to not have yet another band who feels metal must be played with harsh vocals. They may be borrowing from the past but their sound is pretty different from most of the current metal being produced. And again the costumes, entertaining shows, concealed identities all add to the fun. It's just more entertaining than typical metal band X wearing black t shirts and just standing there playing while occasionally maybe headbanging or something.
I saw Blind Guardian live for the first time last night. Was in the front row. Incredible performance. It's been a while since I've been to a metal show with clean vocals. Had so much fun singing along to all those classics. Amazing. Also, I caught one of the drumsticks when they were thrown into the crowd after the show. As a grown ass man, I should have been far less excited about this than I was. Pics attached.
Actual singing. An under appreciated art in the metal world. Thinking about seeing them at the end of the month but don't listen to them like I did years ago. Still put out great stuff.
Has anyone seen Joe? Doesn't seem like him to disappear for as long as he has from this thread and a few others he's usually active in.
Reminds me of the Kvelertak albums. I should give these guys a proper go. Postscript:- Same artist. Good shite.
Can we loop Animals As Leaders into the Ghost-led group of bands that this thread talks about 90% of the time? BTBAM and Opeth belong too. Group needs more extremity imo.
I listen to all kinds of shit, just when you know there's specific bands people like here thats what you tend to bring up.
Love the band and have the CDs, I Hate Records distribution sucks though and I wish they'd leave the label.
Purple by Baroness is a good album but my god it's mastered like shit. James Hetfield did some "top 10 things of 2015" list, and Purple was the only album mentioned. It's funny because Death Magnetic.
Purple is fantastic, sound is fine you gotta stop downloading upconverted garbage. :) I knew you wouldn't be able to stay away.
You probably thought Death Magnetic had a good punchy sound. Yellow & Green was trending in this direction but this is almost like a bad joke. I'm waiting for someone to upload a vinyl rip to wut but I'm not holding my breath on it sounding any better. The album is good but I might have to relegate it to car listening-only since my system in there is stock and everything sounds similarly mediocre through it.
