If they want Machado this offseason and they think a half year rental gives them an advantage....I'd probably do it. But if they aren't already all-in on Machado and may want to offer Harper instead...then I'd wait.
I guess the question that needs answered is if you think Addy + Prospect is worth 1/2 season rental of Machado. I'm leaning yes.
I'd say 4 years of Russell + the Cubs top pitching prospect (and you'd probably need to add more) is not worth 4 months of Machado.
fair enough... I kinda feel like addy is never gonna live up to the hype/expectations people had of him. In other words i'm down on addy at this point
hell no... Why would we move Schwarber. His defense has improved big time and he's a masher at the plate.
I am too as his power is nowhere what it was when he first came up. And he doesn’t make up for that with a high OBP but he’s still solid at the plate especially for a back end of the lineup guy.
I agree that I don't think Addy is going to be a guy with a .850+ OPS at short but he's cost controlled and gives you incredible defense at short stop for 4 more years.
Dan 11:02 What do you think the Orioles can get from the Cubs for Machado? Jeff Sullivan 11:03 Talks probably start with Alzolay and go from there. I understand the obvious link to Russell but the Cubs surely view Russell as too valuable a player to give up for a few months 11:04 Maybe it would turn into a three-way trade, where the Cubs lose Russell and gain Machado, but also gain a longer-term value, probably a pitcher
Wilson is bad and all, but I knew that before 10 minutes ago. I'm pissed the ump didn't ring Schebler up and Barnharts bloop fell in... also we're not knocking in enough base runners Even in yesterday's blowout we still did a poor job moving runners
We might be able to make it work. If we pay 90% of Heywards remaining salary and send every asset we have.
Yeah, based on our run differential we have an expected record of 30-14 right now. I'd be very surprised if in the end we don't win the division by 5+ games.
Tyler Chatwood is basically a starting pitcher version of a right handed Justin Wilson. There’s no way he can keep walking guys like this and continue to get away with it. And like that he gives up a 3 run bomb. 52 pitches through 2 innings. Keep walking guys.
Chatwood has had some good results. But at some point this wild thing routine he’s doing to going to get really old. You can already see how frustrated Wilson gets catching him. I know he’s just a innings eating 5th but he’s not eating innings.
Heyward grounds to 2nd almost every time he puts the ball in-play. I wouldn't be surprised if he does that more than anyone
Man those pirates announcers were some salty fuck sticks after the Rizzo slide. Basically called for Rizzo to get plunked in the 9th.
Haven't had to listen to them in a long time, but they're the worst I've ever heard. We're lucky to have len and jd
I can see the argument for this and if it happened to Willson we would be pissed. In the end it was a legal play.
I don't have to. It was legal. What wasn't legal was Hurdle arguing the review so he got tossed lol. Sucks you have a dirty manager.
