Amateur draft right around the corner. Cubs have five selections in the first one hundred. 24, 62, 77, 78, 98
Quintana was pitching great tonight. Joe pulled him to let Cishek get the last out of the 6th and he gives up a 3 run HR and the lead. That's gotta fuck with his psyche.
Nola is a tough kid to hit this year and we really got unlucky to need that grand slam. But shit that was awesome. Heyward hasn’t completely shit the bed this year at the plate. That’s nice.
I fucking hate watching games he pitches. I’m sure the players playing defense behind him feel the same way.
The issue is who do they call up in his place. Monty is already in the rotation. Our top prospect may have a major injury and Smiley won’t be ready till September. Unless we make a trade we unfortunately are stuck with him.
I just hope this is his rock-bottom. If he can ever learn to find the strike zone, he'd be solid - maybe even good.
I know your post is a bit of hyperbole, but Chris Davis is literally having the worst season in MLB history. So at least Chatwood isn't that much of a waste of space. Stuck with him until Yu is back. Monty can stay in the rotation at the #5 and Chatwood goes to AAA.
Azolay is done for the year. Sucks as he may have helped in the rotation this year. The good news is the cubs farm is starting to produce some good arms and they are having some great performances this year.
Nice series win and potential sweep. Had some strange early results, but starting to move towards the record we should havewith our run differential. And putting the Pirates and possibly the Cards out of contention.
Bought fed up with the Happ experiment. Maybe because every game I watch he doesn’t do shit, but when I don’t watch he usually has a decent game.
Cards have been crushed by injuries in the pen and a bunch of guys just aren’t hitting. Not surprising.
Wacha going to be out a while and their upcoming scheduole @Brewers (43-30) 4 games Cleveland (39-33) 3 games Atlanta (43-30) 3 games @Arizona (39-33) 3 games @San Francisco (36-38) 3 games
Yeah I saw that schedule lineup on the broadcast when we played them. They will likely be selling soon enough. I feel like we will win the division again probably by 3-5 games.
Hell of an outing from Jonny Lester. He’s been unbelievable this year. Defense behind him wasn’t bad either. Let’s got some insurance runs.
they are the best defensive team in baseball... they also run the bases the best in baseball. This team is really good if we can stay healthy I like our chances at making it to the WS
My dad and I are planning a trip to check out Wrigley later this summer (he has been but its been like 15 years and I have never been). Think we are planning on 8/10 weekend vs the Nationals. Any recs on place/area to stay nearby? Also is it best to buy tix beforehand or just scalp or buy at the gate? Figure tickets are much harder to get then our Braves here in ATL. I think he has some work friends that live in Chicago that can help too but I figured id consult TMB as well.
I'd check craigslist. seriously. I have had great luck there. If you are not comfortable with that let me know. I have several friends with season tix that like to sell to friendlies.
