I was watching the PJ Fleck post-game interview and I've come to the conclusion that he is going to be the next head coach at Texas A&M. He's frustrated with the recruiting resources at Minnesota, he's a hot name in the coaching sphere, he's a good recruiter and a young coach.
Sir what year do you think it is?
This would be such a glorious disaster
LMBO @ the thought of P.J. Fleck telling the oil boosters that run the program that they gotta start rowing the boat
It's perfect for them.
And an oar as their stripe.
I'd be curious to hear what #Chicago Bears fans want to do this offseason.
Do you pick up Fields 5th year option, which would pay him ~25mm and work on an extension?
Or do you take Caleb Williams on a rookie deal with the first pick in the draft?
To me, they are the same exact QB. I'd almost be inclined to pick up Fields option and extend him and then use one of their two top five picks to trade down and get more draft capital.
If you think they are the same, I think you have to take Williams due to contract size.
I would trade Fields and restart the salary cap clock.
Their roster isn’t in a position to justify giving any qb a second contract, let alone one that is up for debate whether or not can be a top half of the league starter. I think you have to re-set the clock with a new qb.
Best case scenario for me is Justin plays well enough these last six games to be traded in the offseason. Fire the coaching staff and frame every coaching interview around who the qb should be and what system they’d use to maximize their talent.
They still obviously have a lot of holes but they’ll also have a shit load of cap space and two top five picks.
Keep Fields and have three (or more) picks in the first 50 selections of the 2024 draft seems desirable as well, but I can see your point too. I'm not familiar with the Bears cap situation.
it’s about as divisive as a topic as I’ve ever seen in Chicago sports.
Seems to change week to week. This week the fan base is back on the fields bandwagon, wanting to trade down and maybe take MHJ.
last week everyone was aboard the Caleb Williams train.
I have never strayed from team Fields. He is not the problem. Literally everyone else is.
Bryce Young’s cap hit is 7.5 million. If you pay Fields the 25 or more if you think they are the same just doesn’t make sense.
but what if they’re not the same.
fields is the guy, imo.
he’s just been playing 11 on 1 his entire career.
now it’s more like 11 on 2.
You can restructure deals a million different ways to get the cap hit number down, especially one the first year of those big extensions.
Desahun Watson's cap hit last year was $9mm
I am replying to the original question that was posed saying they are the same
if you believe one is better after scouting you take the better one
This is great....
I get that but eventually you have to pay up. It comes down to who you think is better. If they are the same as originally asked then you move on. If you think fields is better then definitely make the cap work.
I don’t like Williams personally but I also don’t think Fields is a long term answer. So I don’t know what I would do based on who is better.
Last year against Michigan was probably the worst game he's had so he's due against them.
Watching the video of it....I do believe him....
Former buckeyes (ICYMI)
I don't know if there could be more Ohio-themed clothing companies that churn out the same exact shit.
Jimmy still as sexy as he was the first time I laid eyes on him.
He is just a remarkable specimen, aging like fine wine.
Both of them are
Both guys are eligible for extensions this offseason.
I think the Broncos made some moves this year to clear up cap space to sign both by released Frank Clark and trading Randy Gregory.
Not bad for the 27th best RB in the B1G

For reference- that is "try stealing these signs" in Wingdings.
I love that Trey Leroux is such a piece of shit that, even on his Senior Day in a blowout when we cleared the bench, he doesn't register a snap
Josh Simmons: 60
Donovan Jackson: 60
Carson Hinzman: 60
Josh Fryar: 60
Matt Jones: 54
Enokk Vimahi: 14
Luke Montgomery: 10
Tegra Tshabola: 8
Zen Michalski: 6
Victor Cutler Jr.: 6
George Fitzpatrick: 2
Jakob James: 2
I’m not sure Leroux ever lost his black stripe.
In four years, he has played 8 snaps. Toutant never played a single snap in three years. Jakob James has 6 snaps this year, moving his four year total to 95 snaps.
What a tweet....
draft capital >>>>>>>>>>> contract
I really don’t think Caleb is it, dude is soft as shit
You could get Harrison, a tackle, and more with what Bears have
Napoleon rotten tomatoes isn’t great
Sure chuck will watch this week, going with bil on thanksgiving
Their interior OL is worse than their tackles, they just used a first round pick on a right tackle, and the left tackle is actually decent. My guess is they go defense with one of their first round picks and address the interior OL later in the draft and in free agency.
Pretty cool story
Yes, actually taking my 11-year old son tomorrow. He has become a big history buff already and was kinda surprised by this, but his mom was very supportive of the idea of taking him even though it's rated R
Pretty impressive that all of our former lineman, once they are done playing football, drop like 100 pounds and get in great shape.
