Honestly with a good season I think either one goes pro. We're losing everyone next year, good chance it's a rebuilding year.
Oh, I think it's an awful decision, but Pelican indicated McCord's dad is a little crazy and that scenario isn't wild to come to fruition.
Just because I've seen a lot of OSU fans talk about this and it irks me I want to point out that Burrow broke his non-throwing hand during fall camp leading into the 2017 season. Barrett was the starter. Haskins became Barrett's backup with Burrow's hand broken but Burrow was getting playing time at the end of games by the end of September. Burrow was 100% for the battle with Haskins in the spring of 2018.
Haskins came off the bench and led the comeback victory in Ann Arbor when Barrett went down in 2017 though. There was a clear order.
My only OSU jersey is a Troy Smith one with the national championship patch on it. I need to rip that off.
Play both in each game but let McCord start vs Indiana and let Brown start vs YSU. Name Brown the winner of the QB battle before week 3 and go from there. Basically do what Michigan did last season with McCarthy and McNamara so it makes it difficult for one of them to transfer.
Padilla is pretty solid for a true freshman. He’s basically Vihami’s size now, even though Vihami is 4-5 years older.
I could have sworn he redshirted in 2021, but he played five games instead of the four allowed. He burned his redshirted in the blowout over MSU the week before Michigan.
Thought this was neat. Ohio State has had the 2nd least amount of transfer portal attrition since it's inception- 9 kids. Only Oregon State (7) has less. https://theathletic.com/4768694/2023/08/11/college-football-ncaa-transfer-portal-statistics/ Fewest portal departures, Power 5 RK TEAM TRANSFERS 1 Oregon State 7 2 Ohio State 9 3 Iowa 10 UCLA 10 Wake Forest 10 6 Illinois 11 Iowa State 11 Kansas 11 Notre Dame 11 10 Boston College 12 Clemson 12 NC State 12 Pitt 12 Vanderbilt 12
Browns may have lucked out with their OSU rookies. Wypler, Dawand, and Ronnie Pickman have all had really positive early returns.
He had a pretty bad missed block on a screen pass last weekend that led to a five yard loss, but aside from that he’s been rock solid.
If Carter doesn't win the last safety spot I hope Hartford does. I don't ever want to see Proctor play again except for special teams.
The last three years have been the worst three year period of OSU defense in at least 35 years. Statistically, it’s masked by dominating terrible teams. Any time we have had a big game, it’s been disaster. We blew Clemson out, but Lawrence still threw for 400. Alabama was disaster. In 2021, Oregon ran all over us, Michigan ran all over us, Utah scored 40+. In 2022, Clifford threw on us but turned it over. Michigan and Georgia killed us on big plays.
Welcome to the B1G, baby! So many bad offenses mask the problem, until you face a competent offense. This should be a make or break year for Knowles, IMO.
Pretty solid duo here sir https://www.instagram.com/reel/CwQERo4qtFR/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
If the defense takes a leap this year it will actually make me feel better about next year. I will assume that Sawyer comes back for another year. He likely needs it and seems like the type that would. That leaves us with a good/great DE rotation, LB's will be experienced and we will have 3-4 starters/high rep guys coming back in the secondary.
Just got home from the pig show. My daughter won her class and got 5th overall. She then won her showmanship class (this is when they are judged on how the kids can present the animal). Big day!
The situation isn’t terrible, depending upon who stays or goes. We have no idea what we have with the current freshmen though.
Thx! Think you asked for an update on how the rest of that week-long camp in miami went. He spent a ton of time 1 on 1 with counselors (unlike other campers). Some names that stuck out to me were The D.O.C. (co-founder of death row records with Dre and Suge), illangelo (producer responsible for a ton of hits like the weeknd's "The Hills" and "Heartless"), and the president of the latin american division of one of the biggest music labels who wants Miles to cover his artist's songs as promotion for upcoming albums. Not sure if anyone has heard of Faena Hotel in Miami, but they hosted Miles and family and they want to work with him on an upcoming project, so he might be going back to miami sooner than later.
