Right on. I can’t ever remember that game being played at any other time, though I’m sure it’s happened.
Let him know that Uncle Buckeyeriot says Purell does a better job removing germs and germ related smells on his hands/fingers than soap alone.
My wife was out of town this weekend, so it was just him and me. When we went to dinner Saturday night, I announced at the table that, “Now is a good time to talk about sex education.” His face turned white like the blood left his body until I started laughing and he knew I was kidding. The look on his face was as if he was mentally reviewing his options and the answer to each one was to run out of the restaurant.
My memory is crazy when it comes to stuff like this. I know for sure it was played in the afternoon in 2001 on ABC. It was blacked out in my area due to the coverage map so I ordered it on PPV. Spoiler Man the coverage map days were wild. I had to wait until Wednesday to know which games I would get when espn released it.
I remember going to the cable company with my grandpa to get the little box so we could watch ppv games back in the day.
those days were wild originally you could just get a feed for the whole day. then they added a couple more feeds and you had to pick which one had the most games you wanted for the day. then full fledged Gameplan came and it was like 5 or 6 channels thank god those days are over lol. shocked the suits haven't realized the potential cash stream they could turn back on
touche, still not as bad as it was imagine this weekend if the only way you could see Missouri vs Texas A&M at noon is by buying a $120/yr package because your region is getting UCLA @ Penn St instead
When I lived in Pittsburgh in the early 2000’s, the slate was split between Big Ten and Big East, with the Penn State game preempting any other Big Ten. Watched a lot of games at a bar near my apartment.
Day should be commended for going for it on 4th right after Howard almost threw an awful red zone INT
SEC and B1G in talks of partnering furth, including a potential scheduling agreement. Yes please, I want all of the top teams playing as often as possible.
but that won't be how the scheduling will work. they instead will reverse order it and it will be a let down
Zero chance this would happen, especially if they are able to push for more automatic qualifying spots. Even still, seeing those middle tier teams play would be interesting and fun to see who is actually better.
We were always pretty lucky with Ohio State games being televised especially with BTN, but I definitely remember shitting on Tennessee fans when their games were regularly on PPV in 2003-08 era.
I will be at an all-inclusive resort in Cancun with my GF and her son next weekend, please pray for me (and my relationship) with the slate of games that day and this one at night
so accurate. last year's game at Utah was their first out of conference game (non neutral site) outside of the state of Florida since 1992 @ Syracuse
Doesn’t Georgia have a history of this as well? I remember something about it when they travelled to ND.
They've played in Clemson, South Carolina a few times. But yes, they tend to avoid legit road OOC games out of state Under Mark Richt they traveled to Arizona St in 2008, Oklahoma St in 2009, Colorado 2010, and then ND in 2017 Their other out of state OOC games since 1992 have been @ Clemson in 1995, 2003, and 2013
One of my best friends growing up comes from a family of Wolverines and has been attending games since he was 5 or 6. He’s seen Michigan in like 40-50 different stadiums. Any time they do a home and home or neutral site, he travels.
that's really cool. and Michigan, to their credit, play all over the place. he's seem some great environments over the years
Just started doing this a few years ago. Road games are awesome. Flying into Portland and driving to Eugene next Friday.
Texted my sister who is a jr and asked about him, she said her friends has a blanket of him He also seems cool, going to a Phillies playoff game with him seems like it’d be a blast
I believe he's a part owner of Long Drink....and I'm guessing he was given a great deal on his part of equity in it in exchange for doing ads/this type of thing.
I’ve only been to Penn State, NW, and Michigan. The Penn State (99) and NW (98) weren’t big games. Michigan is fun.
No interest in Ann Arbor. Penn state was more fun than I was expecting. Nebraska is still the best one I've done, great fans and Lincoln is a cool college town
Yeah, I have no interest in even the slightest possibility of watching us lose in that stadium then have to travel all the way home. No fucking thank you.
Outside of seeing the Reds at old Yankee by complete coincidence I don’t think I’ve ever watched a team I root for at an away game. Have been to neutral site games. I’d like to hit the west coast schools, Penn State, Nebraska, & Wisconsin. Don’t really want to deal with the logistics of getting to happy valley though. Would only go to Ann Arbor if I think we’re going to win for sure.
Yeah I can imagine. Maybe some year when they're total dogshit. Seems like there's a few of those in the near future.
Most of my sports experiences are road environments Most fun: 1999 ALDS game 5 Boston @ Cleveland Least fun: 2002 Florida St @ #1 Miami (Wide Left; blew 13 pt 4th qtr lead)
