TE Bruce Jankowski led Ohio State in receiving in back to back years in 1968-1969, including the 1968 national title season. He was a “super soph” as part of the 1967 recruiting class that was ineligible to play as freshmen under then-NCAA rules, but the class dominated as sophs in 1968. From 1968-1970, the super sophs went 27-2, and had a streak at AP No. 1 for 18/22 weeks from 1968-1970, interrupted only by the 1969 Michigan loss. They never fell out of the top 5 after knocking off then-No. 1 Purdue in 1968.
Prior to his criminal problems, in May of 2011, Ray Small made the decision to try to be a snitch. He made accusations about car loans in an article in the student newspaper, none of which were proven to be NCAA violations. https://www.thelantern.com/2011/05/...orabilia-some-players-dont-think-about-rules/ Tressel was still our coach, and this was the worst part of the Tat Five scandal speculation. Ray Small is dead to us.
November 2, 1985 was the last time an AP No. 1 team visited Ohio Stadium, when we upset Iowa 22-13. Iowa QB Chuck Long finished No. 2 in the Heisman, but we intercepted him 4 times in the upset.
It was a seminal game for me. I was a fan before that game, but 1985 Iowa probably contributed more to me attending OSU than any other. I was a freshman in high school. I remember watching fans rush the field, thinking it looked like the most awesome thing I had seen. I’m pretty sure it’s the last time the goal posts have been torn down in Ohio Stadium. Fans carried them to PaPa Joes, where the crossbar hung above the bar until the place burned down.
My god dog. He’s about to go OFF. I would say Anadrol Offseason but his genetics are just god tier. He was pushing 130 dumbbells around in the offseason easy as a long limbed wideout!!! Unbelievable athlete and work ethic combination. One of the best I’ve ever seen from that perspective man
I can’t remember offering an OL or DL this early. We get the rare WR, DB or sometimes QB (Prototype). Maybe we have, but I don’t remember.
Nick Bosa played nose tackle on a 3 man line with Joey and another high D1 level prospect as a freshman and was as good as Joey in the 2-3 games I saw. Tidbit for Herbert. Wouldn’t say we offer a ton of linemen this early but a few every year.
I know he is old and needs to be done…but this will be tough. He truly changed the sport and is a legend.
Starting my daily/weekly deep dive into the CFB schedule and gosh it’s going to be an incredible year. Week 5 has all time potential. Starting Friday Night I don’t plan on leaving the basement. Friday Night: FSU/Virginia TCU/ASU Houston/Oregon State Saturday: Ohio State/Washington Oregon/Penn State Notre Dame/Arkansas Bama/Georgia LSU/Ole Miss USC/Illinois Indiana/Iowa Utah/West Virginia Tennessee/Miss St Kentucky/South Carolina Auburn/Texas A&M UCF/Kansas State BYU/Colorado Hell even these are good: Rutgers/Minnesota UCLA/Northwestern Duke/Syracuse App State/Boise Louisville/Pittsburgh I can’t stop looking at it. I mean just look at it… If Fox has any sense and I mean any…they put Ohio State and Washington on as the Night Cap at 9:30pm. It would set up a perfect viewing day.
The only person getting two Cocks this year, is you during your pre-game tailgate Brunch at Union Cafe
In my excitement to post that, i forgot that TH was drafted by the Patriots, not the Broncos. Not sure what made me think that, but it appears that I may need a reboot
Compensation. I build pay structures for my company, build models to gauge the health of our compensation across locations, do market research to understand cost of living and cost of labor by location we operate in and then design multiple "geographies" for our pay bands (so we have 5 that apply to 45 locations we have). plus I build work force planning models, run analytics for a variety of KPIs, design dashboards, plus a lot of misc shit lol
I am sorry but week 8 has nothing on week 5. I can’t think of a single game on there that comes close to the top 8ish games in week 5.
I tend to agree. I get to use all my finance training plus background in economics in a much less time consuming or stressful area (HR) I enjoy it, and given I know what everyone makes and what our pay band design is, they can't short change me lol
