1. I don’t drive many places anymore. Golf, parents house, that’s about it. I’d do those things no matter how expensive gas was 2. Crushed 3. Going to Put in bay at the end of June, golf trip in WV with the a group of 24 people which will be insane, and Charleston/Savanah at the end of summer. 4. Who cares 5. Widespread Panic - various live shows
Friday Survey 1. How expensive would gas have to be for you to change your driving habits? I would drive a more fuel efficient car before changing habits. 2. Crushed or cubed ice? No strong opinion 3. Are you going on vacation this summer? Yes, Yosemite, Sequoia, Big Sur 4. Who leads the Ohio State TE’s in receptions this upcoming season? Gee Scott 5. What are you listening to, or have been listening to lately? Billy Strings
1. I don’t think there really is a number and I’m thankful for that. I did the gas and grocery combo on Wednesday…holy shit. I don’t take it for granted being able to do it comfortably with little worry. 2. Cubed 3. We don’t have anything specific planned besides our lake place. I hope to get out there 90% of the weekends this summer. 4. Royer looked pretty damn impressive so I’ll go with him. 5. Kygo
1. I really only drive to work a few days a week now so like, $10. 2. Crushed 3. going to LA in August and I may drive up to Seattle for the weekend at some point. 4. Gee Scott Jr. 5. Kendrick, I've also been listening to a lot of R&B
1 - probably not a price. I think that’s ridiculous but I travel a lot for kids stuff and they are only young once. 2 - cubed 3 - probably not, just golfing a lot and baseball. We are going to Florida thanksgiving week for my moms 60th. Coming home Friday for OSU game though. 4 - Stover 5 - John Pardi, 90s alternative and 90s hip hop. And I just discovered pod casts are free so Ryen Russillo.
1) Not sure a number exists. We barely drive. Last fall my wife’s lease after 3 years had 10-11k on it and I legitimately don’t know the last time I put gas in my car it’s been so long. 2) Cubed but the best is the small ice from like sonic/CFA. My work has machines with this when I’m in the office and I love it. 3) No, we didn’t have anything planned anyway but I’ve been dealing with health shit again the past few months so that kills anything we may have decided to do short notice. 4) Gee Scott Jr. I refuse to give up on him 5) Haven’t been listening to much lately but occasionally some Frank Ocean or playlist from Guardians of the Galaxy
1. Once it hits $5.00 I’ll probably start thinking more about planning my trips to shop/pick up stuff/run kids better. 2. Crushed. Your drink gets way colder. 3. My family, my parents, and both of my sister’s families got a place at Reunion Resort and are doing the Disney thing in June. In August we’re heading down to Naples with some of our friends and their kids. My wife and her girlfriends from school are going to the Keys for their 40th in July, but I’m staying home with the boys for that one. 4. Royer 5. Sports podcasts mostly. Broke out some old Local H on the way to work today.
1. Don't really have a number fam, although may cancel a road trip or two this summer if it gets to like 6 or 7$ per gallon sir 2. Crushed, yet usually too lazy to switch the button on the fridge, so get cubed at home most of the time. But my office has a crushed ice maker, which is amazing 3. Taking the kids to Fort Worth near the end of June (i have a conference, but won't go to much of it), also taking kids to best friends' house on the Guadalupe River one weekend (between Austin and San Antonio), and need to plan a trip or two for dad (currently considering Chicago, Seattle, northern California, and/or another TX road trip) 4. Gee Scott, Jr. 5. A couple audiobooks by a therapist I like (John Kim aka the Angry Therapist); music by Gang of Youths and JamesG; and a few podcasts (Smartless, Heather McMahan, and Birminology/Talking Stuff of course)
Need to hear more about this Yosemite trip when you get back. My dad still wants to get out there again at some point despite being in his mid 80s
1) $6+ most likely but I drive about 25 minutes to work both ways 4 days a week so not sure what I could do. 2) Cubed all the time. 3) Yes, we take a family trip each year up to Lake George in the NY Adirondacks, its absolutely gorgeous up there. The in-laws rent a lake house and a boat, we spend every day on the shoreline or out on the water. We didnt get to go last year because we had our little man born so we are pumped to go this year. 4) Stover, I just dont think theres enough targets for 2 of them to really make an impact. 5) Been listening to alot of podcasts or my liked music playlist on spotify. I am not known as a big music guy.
I ate outside at "The Gruene River Grill" on the Guadalupe River a few years ago on a work trip. That was a cool place/good meal.
I've never eaten there, but have heard good things. We sorta have our go-to spots whenever we make the trip, while we also often don't leave the house a ton when we go and cook/grill out a lot because the house is tucked away from the main roads and town. Will try to check this place out on a future trip sir
Cool to see the Lake George comment sir. One of my good friends here in Houston--I'm actually meeting him and 2 others for lunch today (BBQ of course)--goes up there for a while every summer (family has had a house there for years) and he and his wife are the only people that I've ever heard mention that place (they mention it a lot, though, ha).
1. How expensive would gas have to be for you to change your driving habits? Inconceivable, I basically only drive to work and back plus locally around town. Could walk around town but I get winded push mowing the yard these days. 2. Crushed or cubed ice? Crushed 3. Are you going on vacation this summer? Fuck outta here… 4. Who leads the Ohio State TE’s in receptions this upcoming season? Corch 5. What are you listening to, or have been listening to lately? The effeminate dude in my department repeatedly tell people on the phone that he is male. “Um actually, it’s sir not ma’am.”
1. I'm there now - got my first ev (Hyundai) after totalling my 2nd car in 5 years on a deer (last month). Michigan sucks for its lack of chargers. 2. Crushed 3. There may be several weekend trips, but planning on going to Tahoe in the fall. 4. Gee Scott 5. Black Crowes, Izzy Stradlin, and The Rolling Stones ‐ I'm chasing a particular guitar tone this summer for my midlife crises.
Solid Dawes reference sir, i was hoping to join a couple friends to see them here in December, but ended up not being able to make it. One of the two friends is tight with them through Blake Mills and they ended up getting free tickets and got to hang with them for a bit after the show.
We’re flying into Fresno, then staying about 20 miles outside the park. I’ve never been there, but my mom and dad love the place. Herb Jr and I have a couple of hikes we want to try. We’re only there three days though. Rest of the trip is Big Sur and Sequoia.
1. I don't think a number below $10 would hit my radar tbh. 2. Crushed 3. Hilton Head with the whole crew in August. Bahamas in October with just the Wife. 4. Gee Scott Jr 5. A variety of podcasts at the moment. Late Kick with Josh Pate, Joe Rogan Experience, Timesuck, etc.
I generally enjoy Late Kick but it annoys me how he puts a positive spin on every team to not piss anyone off
I get that. He is very careful to upset anyone. He's the most logical and knowledgeable guy at the college football level IMO, even though he does have a slight SEC bias.
1. I really don't drive much, so maybe $8. 2. Cubed 3. Family trip to northern Michigan and mom/dad trip to Key West in early September. We haven't gotten away from the kids at all and it needs to happen. 4. Stover, but no clue. 5. Mainly kids music.
I haven’t taken an actual vacation since before my son was born in 2017. All my time off has either been doing shit around the house and or local family stuff.
Who wants to go to Cinque Terra and the French riveria with me? I have enough hotel points to cover it I want to go to Cinque Terra because herb.burdette posts about it all the time and I like the pics
