.. if you have/had it, who would/did you take? I am in a PPR league, by the way.

I was lucky enough to win my league last year, so I get the #1 pick in my league this year.

For a few months, I was dead set on taking Chris Johnson, but I have backed away from this rather strongly in the past week. Reason being when I read this ..

Knowing this, I am a bit more skeptical to take a risk, given this long history.

Naturally, my 2nd option would be Adrian Peterson. But given his yearly declining YPC statistics, I am skeptical of him. His running style and fumble issues only add to my worry about him.

Honestly, I am really torn now more between Jones-Drew and Rice. Until next week at least ..

    Thoughts?

Just now starting my fantasy research for this year. Are Jones-Drew and Ray Rice seriously #1 RB candidates this year?

    No

Chris Johnson is #1. AD is #2.

Yes, if you are in PPR leagues, which is what my post is about.

If not, then they can be #1 RB candidates based on where you draft. Both are top 5 RB candidates regardless of type of scoring.

I think Jones Drew would be a great pick for a PPR league. He's that whole damn offense and he does get looks out of the backfield for passes.

I haven't researched much this season yet but if McCluster gets playing time I could see him being a great late draft pick, especially in a ppr league.

If you can land a combo of Drew, maybe a WR like Vincent Jackson, and Aaron Rogers/Tom Brady that would be pretty awesome IMO
