Comedy Central and Superfly, the promoters behind Bonnaroo and Outside Lands, are joining forces to present the inaugural Colossal Clusterfest, a first-of-its-kind event that will bring a full lineup of comedians, musicians and more to San Francisco on June 2–4. Comedians set to appear at the festival include Jerry Seinfeld, Kevin Hart, Bill Burr, Sarah Silverman, Hannibal Buress, Tig Notaro, Chris Hardwick, Natasha Leggero, Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, Bob Odenkirk and more. Reggie Watts crosses the border into the musical offerings from the festival, which will also include Chromeo, Ice Cube, Tegan and Sara and Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The festival will feature stand-up and sketch comedy, plus podcasts, Q&As and more, plus attractions based on South Park, Seinfeld and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Colossal Clusterfest will debut at San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on June 2. Tickets for the festival go on sale March 2 at 10am PT. More information can be found here. Milky Chance too...were awesome last time they played there. Even if so - its why location & venue distinguish some festivals from the rest
Osheaga has the best list I've seen outside the Euro fests. I don't like the headliners but the undercard is incredible
Hitting the road for Okeechobee tomorrow. We have two RVs and three cars in our caravan. Should be a good time. Hope I make it back alive.
Alright alright. When are you headed down? Staying til Monday? What acts are you looking forward towards most? I'll be honest, I haven't paid much attention to the festival because my friend set everything up. She got a bunch of free passes since she works with one of the primary sponsors. I have a buddy flying in from Denver right now. He said he Uber pooled with two random guys to the airport. Both were from Idaho and were on their way to Okee as well. I saw The Revivalists in San Diego a few weeks ago. I had never listened to them before, but instantly became a fan. Was pretty pumped to see them in the lineup. We probably have enough mood enhancing treats to kill a small herd of elephants. I'll probably end up at the Jungle stage late every night.
I'll be there Friday morning. I have to work Monday. Excited for all the headliners. Griz and Porter Robinson are 2 acts I'm looking forward to Saturday night. Okeechobee is rowdy. 3 main stages but then other areas with stages. DJ's will set up at like 4am. It's great. You have a totem? Believe we have a giant ice cream cone.
Definitely pumped to see Porter and Louis the Child. Pretty sure we do have a totem. I'll have to check with the group and let you know. Apparently there is a Corona tent next to one of the stages which we will possibly use as a meeting place. My friend got us bands to get in there and she says it's free beer/booze. Hopefully I can get a bunch and bring it to friends outside. I downloaded the Fire Chat app today. A buddy of mine said it's great for festivals because it allows you to text using bluetooth. Something you may want to look into. We're bringing walkie talkies just in case as well.
I know tmb enjoys in real-life tmb meet stories... Gin Buckets PM'd me a picture of his totem. In a drunken glance at the fest I saw a totem and it immediately jogged my memory. I ran over to a group of guys but soon realized I couldn't remember any of gin buckets actual info. I approached a guy in the group and probably mumbled something like "so this dude sent me a pic of his totem online" and the guy interrupted me and with no emotion pointed at Gin. As if Gin is always meeting men from the Internet. I then met Gin and proceeded to whisper who I was in fear of being mocked by people close. We didn't chill because I assumed I would run into him later. Tell me you got down at that late night fire stage?
Yes. I think I was there every night except Saturday. Wasn't the name of the stage Insindia or something similar? Saw Griz, 12th planet, Snail there and more. Hell of a fest.
http://www.wptv.com/news/region-st-...iction-leads-to-99-arrests-in-st-lucie-county Is this normal around the areas of these music fest? I live around here and saw people being pulled over left and right heading to the festival. There are 2-3 main roads to access the venue and these cops were stationed on all of them pulling random people over that look like they were headed to the festival. They had ATF, DEA, Sheriffs, state troopers, etc all involved. Never seen anything like it....Seems like it was a big trap to me
Heard of it happening around Bonnaroo in some of the earlier years, but never experienced. But that's the risk you run. Anywhere near a fest site you're going to have a bigger police presence. Gotta drive to the letter of the law. Maybe a few of the searches will get thrown out, but pretty much sounds like a successful operation.
if that was on 95, it wasn't even that close to fest. but that sounds like bullshit. all warrantless searches. probably canine. probably prolonged.
Dude... So sorry man... I was fucking wrecked, and losing folks walking through a crowd when I saw ya. Looked for the ice cream cone emoji for the remainder of the weekend, though I saw your message saying it switched later. Anyway, great meeting you albeit briefly. Fucking onesies man. OMF was better last year imo... The stages aren't big enough for that large of a crowd. It was tough to see acts, and if you wanted respice (I think that's a word though my spellcheck is telling me it's not) you literally had to back to camp as there was just not enough room for a break around any of the stages. I still had a blast, but damn that festival felt cramped.
I vaguely remember thinking that some of your guys were wasted ha. But I was destroyed. Security threw our totem away at entrance. I climbed through woods and grabbed it, crew went nuts. Saw sunrise both nights.
I have a damn wedding to be at Saturday, so I won't be able to work or attend the whole thing, but will likely get passes to see NIN. I've been wanting to see them for years anyways.
I wish they would find another month for that festival. Roasting in the parking lots of RayJay while possibly under various substances is not a great mix.
