Greetings from Tomorrowland. They continue to have one of the greatest ideas in festival history: open urinals. So, like, for some of the bigger stages they have raised viewing platforms for VIP, or whoever. Attached to the side of these platforms are Wrigley Field-style piss troughs. So you can just roll on up, whip out the Big Hog, do your thing and be on you way without waiting in a line for a porta potty. God bless relaxed European sensibilities, and health codes?
They've had urinals at Locks the last couple years in the show field. Granted they're still behind a little fence, but yeah super convenient, never seen a wait for them.
Kinda festival related. This morning, got tickets to see LCD Soundsystem at Aragon Ballroom in Chicago November 7 . Tickets sold out. Going with 7 friends.

Just did 4 days of lolla. Random thoughts Arizona: high energy, good songs, needed lead singer's vocals to be higher. Cage the elephant: awesome, tons of energy. Phantogram: fun but not as great as I hoped and I like most of their stuff. Andrew McMahon: surprisingly fun. RTJ: awesome. brought a random guy on stage to rap along. the killers: surprisingly really good. Lead singer has a great voice Zara Larsson: holy fuck is she hot. 19 great body and tits, wore a see through white top the whole time. Oh and she has a good voice and some fun songs. alt j: as expected. sounded great fun to sit in the grass live. glass animals: sucked ass. lead singer sounded like he was out of breath. most disappointed of any show b/c i love both their albums. chance: crowded as fuck, still fun but not as much in that environment. got bottles for his after party too. fun times. rag and bone man: saw 30 minutes of like none of his hits and he was still really good. tove lo: flashed the crowd. fun songs. would do that show again. arcade fire: best show of the weekend by far. incredible blend of their new and old stuff. crowd was into it. they sounded awesome. probably one of the best shows I've seen at lolla for closers and definitely up there with LCD from last year for me.
It was just a perfect way to end the weekend imo. I like all of their stuff already so maybe I'm biased, but they have such a unique sound live and everything was executed perfectly. Multiple vocalists, 2 main singers sounded great, all the instruments perfectly come together, tons of energy, they're dancing to their own stuff like I would be if the songs were mine (don't ask me why this matters to me but it does), no real lull in the show at all as they blended each song into the next and had clearly put some time and thought into doing so, ended with Lennon's Mind Games and this: "As the song drew to a close, the band interpolated pieces of Radiohead’s “Karma Police” and David Bowie’s “Oh You Pretty Things” (the latter of whom Win mourned, noting that “we’re all here because of David Bowie”), before returning to a snippet of their own “Wake Up”." It was the show I was most excited for going into the festival, and they far exceeded expectations. Highly recommend seeing them in any venue if given the chance.
This article is a good write-up on their show: https://consequenceofsound.net/2017...ire-closes-festival-with-career-spanning-set/
Sound was jacked up last night, but looks like they fixed it. Glad I can couch tour since I didn't make it :(
This probably is a dumb question. What's best way of getting music festival tickets that require a wrist band on the secondary market? Thinking of going to Pilgrimage Fest in TN next weekend for Saturday only, but don't know how to go about getting a wrist band living in Atlanta. There's pretty much no-one selling them in Atlanta and I don't know the logistics of buying one online with me paying someone without me not being sure if they'll mail the wrist band.
Check StubHub? They may have paper tickets that you trade for a wristband on-site. Or risk your anus on Craigslist?
Along with CL or stubhub, you could check to see if there is a forum or subreddit for the city/festival. Pretty sure Pilgrimage is in Nashville, so I imagine they've got a decent subreddit. Also, Cash or Trade is a good site. All that said, most of those are going to suggest mailing it, but you might find some locally or near the fest you could meet up in person.
Music Midtown this weekend was pretty fun. I was basically by myself the whole time, because I couldn't find anyone, but almost every show I saw was A+. The Best (Chronologically ordered): Weezer The Naked and Famous Blink 182 Collective Soul Bastille Mumford and Sons I got bits and pieces of Bruno, Wiz, Zara Larrson, and HAIM -- all seemed very good. Two Door Cinema was probably the worst, boring set imo.
Also, Imagine this weekend.... Haven't gotten a ticket, but might go. Hulaween Phase 2 was a very solid phase 2 release. Happy with the lineup this year, sans the dub step additions.

It was great besides the fact that i could still here the music playing 2 hours after the festival ended.
only thing I dislike about LSD is the last 2-3 hours you're just ready for bed and will lay down and close your eyes, have some wicked dream, and "wake up" for it to only be 3 minutes later. got a lot of goodies ready for ACL weekend 1
