The first part is true at least. Wenger has been trying to sell players on alternate positions forever now. You guys were in for Vertonghen but Wenger said he saw him as a defensive mid.
That's what he does though. He also completly ignores positions and defensive shape. And he doesn't believe in DM so makes sense why we never pursued.
