Real v Juve Monaco v Atletico early semifinal picks although a Madrid Derby semifinal would be insane.
goheels10 So what exactly happened with Monaco? Did they basically use the Falcao money and load up on younger guys? Or are most of these players legit academy products?
Most of the players you are seeing are not from their academy, but their development pool is insane. In just the past few years they've recouped something like €300m when you include the the following deals: Falcao, Martial, James Rodriguez, Kondgobia, Yannick Carrasco, Layvin Kurzawa, Abdennour. They then used money to sign the guys you're seeing today for dirt cheap. Lemar €5m, Mbappe, Germain 0 (development academy). Bakayoko €8m, Sidibe €14m, Mendy €15m, B Silva €15m
Loving that this ref isn't buying Barca's act this far. Give Busquets a card for crying it'd be a perfect performance
Be bought by a Russian billionaire and spend a shit load of money to buy tons of players, then sell some of those players for profit and invest in youth not higher priced players
There is a difference between buying an act an actually calling legitimate fouls, which it seems he doesn't want to do.
i think the key to the whole thing is this ^^, but also to get divorced and taken for everything you've got by your ex-wife. That helped kick start what we're seeing right now.
Barca is its own worst enemy here though, because they cry for everything. Play through the normal and the regular gets seen for what it is imo
Imagine needed goals to advance and starting Drum over Dembele. Tuchel really outsmarted himself today.
Not a Barca fan and probably an unpopular opinion but I really think those plays where players undercut someone in the air with no attempt to play the ball should be cards. Players get hurt like that just as often as with dangerous tackles, if not more.
