Only is going to get harder. Strong rumors of PEY, Reus and gotze all leaving in the summer. Maybe that's what tuchel needs mold the team in the way he wants.
Arrest made in the Dortmund bus attack. German-Russian national bought a shitload of put options and was hoping to profit from the share price drop if someone died. Jesus https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-arrested-as-police-allege-share-dealing-plot
Their owner did pump in money to start it but they punch so far above their weight. Surprised Atletico has kept so many of their players with that wage bill too.
Not sure anyone can beat them when they play like this. Hopefully they get the over-the-top performances out of the way before the final.
This didn't look like the same Atletico of the past few years, or even of a couple weeks ago. Real played very well but something was off with Atleti's press and overall they seemed out of sorts for some reason
Yeah, my old man who hasn't watched much lately text me asking how Atleti had made it to the semis. Based on that performance, it's a fair question.
Seemed more reactive tonight for whatever reason. Not having Juanfran and subsequently having to protect the right side maybe? Either way they're a much, much better team than that scoreline would indicate
This was basically my response but they looked worse than they have. As nebulous as that is. Like nexus said they just looked off.
Real is 7th in spending since 2010 behind Man City, Chelsea, Man U, PSG, Barcelona and Liverpool. Only Barcelona and Chelsea have had European success during that timeframe so I dont think spending more money guarantees better results. Plus Atletico are no minnows, they are 11th in spending. https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/revealed-europes-biggest-spenders-2010-and-whos-made-most-money
I get why they chose 2010 but lol at not prefacing that with "after Real spent 230 mil in summer 2009".
Posted it in the Europa League thread but if you want an appetizer before Monaco v Juve, Ajax v Lyon is playing at 12:45 PM today due to a Dutch holiday tomorrow.
