It’s nice to see parity in the tourney finally. Last nine years: US: 3 Finland: 2 Canada: 2 Sweden: 1 Russia: 1
The 3 top teams this year were pretty much equal. Canada was obviously better but by a very thin margin. Usa and Sweden with probably better lineups talent wise but less experience and did not play as focused.
Europeans love to declare events over. No shit the tourney is over, you just handed out the medals and Canada is skating around with the goblet.
Yes, for once. The USA goalies did not play very good or they would’ve been tough. And Canada was very deep like The Banks said.
Like we said pre-tourney, Hart is the best Canadian goalie prospect since Price. Bout time y’all produced something elite with all your star skaters.
It’s one of those tournament that you look 10 years from now, look at the lineups and what players are doing in the nhl and wonder how the hell did Canada win this. The USA and Sweden will have a lot more stars from this year’s team than Canada. But Canada was older and deeper.
Canada had 4 lines but really no superstars like we usually do. No one like a Tavares who could take a game over at the junior level whenever the team needed a goal. But after losing this tourney a few times with far better teams collapsing its kinda nice.
Few things our group always talks about. - never should have let MAF go. - played more games then everyone the past two years, team is worn out. - Cullen was way more important than realized slash 3/4 line just decimated. - letang has been shit, defense hasn’t been healthy.
I like middlestadt, bellows will score some goals, Yamamoto will put up some points. Both your goaltenders played poorly but they will play, especially oettinger(sp). Hughes at d will be a pretty good player. Tkachuk should be pretty good. I only see makar and maybe hart for Canada. Katchouk will be a 2nd/third liner.
Why are the Oilers trash this year? They were talked about as a cup contender at the start of the year and now are out of the playoffs while not looking like they're going to make a run.
People jumped the gun, their defense was always shit. Talbot had an incredible year and this year not so much. It’s that simple. They should rebound next year but they need to fix that defense or they won’t get past the first round. Their gm is a clown, trading away Taylor hall for Adam Larson is incredibly stupid and the media praised him for it last year. That’s ridiculous. Larsson is average. I get trading hall, but that return is not enough. If they traded hall for Subban, then sure that’s a nice move for what they needed.

12$ a beer is outrageous, losing fans by the minute imo. 8$ is not enough? I would take 8$ a beer at a hockey game. The cost for Molson to make one beer is under 50cent. i understand the market and all but this is getting ridiculous.
I hope, but I went to the bell center just 2 years ago and a 340ml beer was around 10$ I hope you guys have it better.
I never buy beer at a Lightning game unless I'm with a group and everyone else is having one. I go across the street before the game and get 2 or 3 for the same price I would inside.
I typically smuggle at least 5 airplane bottles in every pro game I go and am wasted by the end of it. Am I proud, fuck no but feel great till I have to piss on the metro.
More reason for me to get on the flask game. Was a little shy asking for Christmas, doesn’t look good on a wish list.
Went for some beers after the game and Boucher ( and his lady ) was there. Felt bad for him; all he wanted to do was eat his food but people kept coming up to him to talk or take a picture. We didn’t have that problem tho...
He'd look amazing in a Canucks sweater....... it'll never happen though. I like the direction of the prospect pool, Petterson is looking really good. In 2-3 years they could be a borderline playoff team if they continue the development of young talent and smart offseason moves. Boeser looks to be becoming an elite sniper and one the Canucks so desperately need.
