Wtf OSU came back?
Had a shot to win it at the end.......airballed it.
Impressive comeback though. Down what 22, with 8 minutes left?
Curious on what the thread thinks of IU's tourney chances. Is IU/Ohio St a de facto play in game or would they also need to beat MSU to make it?
I think you need to win two.
Anyone going to the tournament?
I've got a client meeting in Chicago Wednesday. I'm going to be on PTO Thursday. No telling what I might do, but if one of your fine gentlemen are going and want to hang out, it's possible I'll be there.
I'm not sure how to take your response.
The question was whether IU needed to beat MSU to make it.
You replied "I think you need to win two."
As you already know, IU has already won two against the #Michigan State Spartans.
Or are you saying IU has to win THREE against MSU to make the tournament?
Since we don’t have a women’s b-ball thread and this one is just a Big Ten b-ball thread. Suck our vaginas Big Ten. Women’s tourney champs
I’ll be honest. You’re a little too methodical at sucking dick to make a third win really interesting.
Can you switch it up Friday to make it interesting?
In general, I want to lose Friday and rest. Play Thursday to get Ward back in the mix a little. But a third loss to IU would be super lame.
Our first game is Friday. We want to win that one.
Yeah ok second game.
Our first NCAA tourney game will be Thursday. Definitely do not want to play a Sunday.
Gotta stay fresh so you don't give up 90 to 15 seed again
This is correct.
Is Indiana going to hang a banner if they make it to final four of NIT?
lol at the notion of them stringing together enough consecutive wins
Is there really a path for Indiana to make the tournament without winning the BTT?
It’s only 3 wins
No shit. I thought they were .500
They have to play someone other than us tho
This is the same team that lost 11 of 12 in the middle of the season.
Two bookend wins against the most overrated top 10 team in the country.
Edited to add: if the committee sees this Michigan State is definitely a top ten team and is very good and any team that beat them should be given the benefit of the doubt iyam.
This seems like an unpopular opinion but when you're having a season like we are or Indiana, who the fuck cares about the tourney. Let Gardner-Webb care about making the tourney.
We fucking suck, I couldn't care less about losing in first round of the tourney vs the NIT.
I think Indiana has a dangerous team that could make a deep run.
I care very much about making the tournament and do not think Gardner Webb is a better team.
The tourney is always a lot more fun when you have a (non gambling) interest. Of course I'd rather see IU in than not but they'll have 0 argument if/when they get left out, and rightfully so.
You could end up in a busted bracket and play a mid major in the Final Four. Think of the bragging rights!
This IU tourney talk is a welcomed distraction ITT
It will only last until we lose to the #Ohio State Buckeyes on Thursday.
But we will do what we can.
I think making the tourney is good to be able to recruit and say you made the tourney, as opposed to having to explain why you didn't.
We have 3 top 50 guys plus a good transfer, we also have 1 senior next year so can't say that's a big concern right now.
It should always be a concern. 64 teams make it. Not being one of them is not a good thing.
It sucks and we suck and are in early days of our coach, I don't see it making a huge difference in recruiting when we have maybe a 2 person class next year and one of them will likely be Sconnie Penn's kid.
Next year is enormous for us, at least sweet 16 or bust
Hey everyone up in your ivory tower: making the tournament is a huge deal to some of us.
Can’t even imagine what winning a game in the tournament would be like.
Being a fan of a shit team sucks but at least you expect nothing.
We were easily best team in the country in 2010 and fucking blew it in sweet 16.
Yeah, woe is us Ohio State fans. Should feel so bad for us.
At least you have football, dick.
After reading the off-season reports about how the football team is going undefeated for the next decade under Day I’m not concerned about basketball
Will be going to the BTT for Thursday and Friday. Anyone been before? Tips on tickets etc?
My dad, brother, and I used to go every year on Thursday and Friday when it was being held in Indy. We always just did tickets on ebay or stubhub.
Yeah some good prices on SeatGeek. $10 will get me in the door. I doubt Minnesota-PSU is gonna sell out so it seems like it should be pretty easy to walk down to the 1st level no?
Ha ha, no way we should be 50/1 odds. I’d put us at 500/1.
200/1 odds for top 25 Illinois is intriguing
Just a heads up: the last couple times we went to the BTT at the United Center they had additional gates inside and wouldn't even let you on the 100 level concourse without tickets. They'd make you take the stairs or escalator upstairs to get food, use the bathrooms etc.
They don't clear the arena between games in the same session and apparently had too many problems with fans coming in for the 2nd games and not being able to get their seats.
Yeah, I’ve been to it at the United Center and regardless of how full it was, they didn’t even let you get close to the lower level if you didn’t have a ticket. It was a great time, but the seat you buy will 99 percent of the time be the seat you sit in.
