Where was this from? I’m just curious because when I tried to do a quick look when we talked about this last year I had a far lower number. I’m curious if they’re giving Fox credit for showing every match when they would do a whiparound red zone type show. That’s the only thing that makes sense to me. Now that I’m home and had a chance to look at the numbers, this is complete horse shit Final - 1 Semis - 4 Quarters - 8 R16 - 16 6 Group Matchday (8 groups with 2 matches per Matchday) - 96 125 matches Even if you go to the playoffs - 145 matches. Fox didn’t air all the matches so that is way off plus they are crediting Fox with more matches than there were matches played. Fox didn’t even air all the QF, there were matches on Facebook.
Sorry, I’m not trying to come across as a Fox apologists but I also don’t want to be fed a bunch of bullshit either to make it look worse than it is. I think that the Group Stage matchdays get broken up with Tuesday and a Wednesday matches with typically 2 matches each of those days so 4 per Matchday for 24. 11 for QF/SF/Final Even if we are giving credit for all 16 R16 matches (this seems generous) that is 51. So all this freak out to go from 51 (this seems generous) to 46. If we have to lose 5 matches to go from Fox announcers to the World announcers (Turner will be using the World Feed) then I don’t think it’s a bad trade
