Harbaugh’s daughter is going to ND to play lacrosse. There are actually rumors he’d want to join our staff in some capacity, though I think that’s out the door with Kelly having the success he’s had.
Clay getting another year is going to give Chip another for sure victory over USC. He’s going to get anchored in pretty good around LA as USC watches their program burn to the ground.
Will schools ever figure out these contracts with coaches to the point where they won't owe these insane buyouts? Or is it so far gone at this point where it's never going to change? Seems like at some point some of these schools would learn after having to pay all this dead money to coaches again and again to not keep making the same mistake, but maybe it's just impossible in this landscape to do anything different
It doesn’t make any sense for the big programs that aren’t stepping stones. USC is probably far better off paying a coach $1mm / year + a $15mm national championship win bonus (and other high performance incentives) than having $5mm / year with buyouts. Maybe that incentive bonus needs to be higher, but all parties involved are better off with super high performance incentives.
Wow. You really hate to see a so-called “insider” stealing things like this without attribution. I reported this yesterday in the Kliff thread. And now, here you are trying to pass this off as your own. SMH.
Ha that's awesome. Zero tolerance for incompetence. That program has launched so many guys to better opportunities
The more I think about it the more I think Dana is going to tech. He’s gonna have to do a rebuild here with our best players moving on, our OC presumably leaving, and our DC needing to be fired. Might as well do it at tech where they’ll let him have more time than he would get at wvu now that he will be in year 9. Similar money and resources and he already has ties to the school. Plus their fans love him
You don't want Dana anyways, having coached some players that WVU has recruited he is not the best first impression maker on visits.
