I don’t know. I mean that’s the bet right? Tactically, the team will run NBA level sets on offense. He consistently generates open looks through an offense that runs multiple motion sets with a bunch of set play actions occuring within each, that’s his calling card. Wofford has been a top tier three point shooting team for years now but when we’ve had good post players, his offense can and will run through the post. He and his staff do a great job scouting and game planning for opponents. They do a really good job of jumping your opponents best stuff on defense. When he has depth, he rotates really well. He does a really good job managing foul trouble and matchups with aggressive substitutions. I think from a coaching perspective, he will adjust fine, but as Dean Smith said, you can be the best coach in the world but when it comes time to shoot the ball, recruiting takes over.
Recruiting is going to be the biggest question mark. He recruited nationally to Wofford so it’s not like he only has networks in the Carolinas. He’s been recruiting to Wofford since before he can remember and if we’re being frank, it’s pretty easy to define a Wofford kid. Good academics, overlooked by major programs for size/athleticism reasons, probably the third or fourth best player on a good AAU team who is used to having to work hard without a lot of fanfare. When it comes time to play major programs, you see why they were overlooked. He can’t keep recruiting those kids and make it work in the ACC. I have no idea if he can adjust his recruiting to an ACC level but he’s smart enough to know that’s probably his biggest challenge and where he needs to devote his resources and time to improving. I think he will take most or all of his staff with him but he needs to add a guy who can fast track his recruiting, has relationships, and knows how to speak with kids whose motivations and situations as ACC level recruits are just a lot different than what Mike and his staff are used to. THAT SAID, Mike was the first to offer Zion, and one of Zions official visits was to Wofford. I don’t think VT got an official from Zion but someone can clarify for me if I’m wrong.
Thanks for the response. I look forward to seeing what he can do and what kind of staff he puts together. Gonna have to start from scratch with so many guys leaving.
good he can’t shoot and i would rather have him than rj hampton playing on that team.
boogie ellis is a total moron for buying k’s shit and is about to get buried on the bench.
I started reading this and thought it must be the B1G forecast until I got to #3.
Agree that Sparty is going to be scary good. I'm far less confident that we're anywhere near #2, esp having to replace Poole.
also i will wait for the stories that i am sure will come about how k wasted a top 10 recruit and kept him on campus for 2 years. surely any second now that story will drop

Thanks for your hard work even on such a big night, dumpy
Rothstein has been all over ASU stuff under Hurley so this probably has some legs, sadly.
He's a lunatic and not exactly the an X and O savant, but he brings in talent. Best run at ASU in 30+ years, as embarrassing as that may be
Is St John's a step up? Seems at best a lateral move, no?
the AD there went to Duke with Hurley and absolutely loves Bobby
Cragg went to Washington. He used to work at Duke, but it doesn’t matter how much he loves Hurley if Hurley doesn’t want the job. The appeal for Hurley is its proximity to his home, not his boss or the prestige of the job.
thank you for correcting my mistake sir. I appreciate it.
Probably a decent $$$ bump too, he's a northeastern man through and through.
Both Lawson’s from KU gone. One transferring and the other declaring for the nba
I WISH I HAD A COACH WHO COULD BRING IT IN MARCH BUT BENNETT’S SYSTEM WILL NEVER GET IT DONE
Congrats to all the Virginia posters, and hell of a run for the Red Ragers.
I regards to the jokes made at Virginia's style, I regret nothing.
Still no mcdonalds all Americans but yet another early entry for beilein
I really hate the new entry rule. I mean it’s great for the players but these guys announce then have another month or two to decide and it confuses me
Apparently he is not aware that he can sign an agent and still retain eligibility.
It's even worse now that they can sign an agent and still be eligible. Used to be if they did that then you knew for sure they were gone for good. Sucks for fans, but at least they are doing right by the players.
Yes he is, Ashley
He's not from America
Easy to forget cuz he sure looks maga
this should have been done like 30 minutes after cronin left
#Ohio State Buckeyes
He'll be back. There isn't much of a market in the NBA these days for chubby guys with lower vertical jumps than yourself has.
I don't get it with some of these tweets, you can sign with an agent now.
But I agree, I can't imagine he's going to receive much feedback other than a can of SlimFast.
Strong and logical hire
Most mocks have him outside of the lottery but ESPN has him at like #15 I think. No way he returns imo
Knew this was coming, though I was surprised to hear that he is leaving the door open. Sounds like he might consider a return if he isn't a lottery pick but he should test out well on the athletics and measurables that NBA teams somewhat pointlessly fall in love with.
Man imagine going from Musselmania to fucking Alford
EMBARRASSING #Nevada Wolf Pack
Quentin Grimes from KU is declaring for NBA. Good luck with that since he sucked anyways. He is blaming eveyone else saying he wants to play PG and he couldn't do that at KU.
The reason is bc Dotson is much, much better lol
