China this weekend. Was Malaysia a fluke or will Ferrari really challenge the Mercs?
yall are the only usernames i can remember off the top of my head, but i know we had 4 or 5 other regulars in here. tag em if you remember
ready for tonight.
Not having NBCSports live is killing me this season.
Mercedes still obviously has the pace. Ferrari will need to get creative on strategy or Mercedes' mistakes to win races.
I also think Hamilton will own Rosberg this year. Matchett made an interesting comment on the FP2 broadcast that since the "driver coaching" radio ban has gone into place, Hamilton has won 9 races and Nico only has 1 win.
Rosberg was asking about lines during Malaysia.
I've always thought Nico was a git anyway. Mercedes obviously favored him in the beginning and Hamilton overcame that to the point Mercedes has no choice to put them on equal ground because it's their best shot to win the titles.
UA412 because I think he posted in the old thread
Vettel was really confident post qualifying about his chances later. Ferrari sees to have the long run pace vs the Mercedes. I guess it will depend on the start and if Vettel can get by Rosberg and not be held back so Lewis can get away.
Should be a cool race. Wouldn't be shocked at all to see two Ferrari's on the podium
Lewis is just quicker. Always has been. Lewis, Alonso, Vettel... those guys are special. The rest are good. Its a freaking shame Alonso is in that horse shit car
Yeah, Alonso is pretty much pissing away an entire year (at least) hoping Honda can catch up.
People who would know, keep saying the chassis is probably pretty good. And it seems like they've been a bit bold with the aero in certain regards. Hopefully once the engine is at full power, everything will come together.
Speaking of that, cool little brake duct winglet on the McLaren this weekend.
That was my point. Lewis doesn't need to be instructed on how to drive the car, how to improve in a certain sector or, as it were last night, how to manipulate braking points. He's simply a better driver.
20-25 years ago, giving up a year to develop a Honda would have yielded massive success.
Now, he might be sacrificing a year of development to run midpack.
I think Alonso figured he would pull a Hamilton and go to a team who struggled in the hopes it would be ahead of the pack the next year. Honda will get its shit together but he is going to be running back of the pack all year. And he is one of the best in the world so that is awful.
He forgot to add Brawn to the plan.
Buxton interviewed him and basically Alonso said he was tired of hearing "this car will be good" every year from Ferrari and it being a mid-pack car. I guess he felt like it was a better gamble to go with Honda than spend another year with Ferrari. Depending on what you think may happen with Honda in the long-term future, it looks like Ferrari finally got a decent car but it's still not fast enough.
it's getting pretty damn close...
Agree.. it may not have the Mercedes 1 lap speed but it seems like race speed its just as good if not better.
All I want is a race for the title not between teammates.
@adamcooperF1: RBR has changed @danielricciardo's ICE (V6). However no penalty for doing that in parc ferme these days.
um, what does this mean?
'parc ferme' means the cars are basically in 'lock down' and certain changes cannot be made.
And we are about to go.....
I bet Vettel tries to go 1 stop cause Lewis is already getting away...
really good start...
poor RedBull is so slow...
or he just didn't get off the start line
Red Bull has had such a disastorous weekend.
And really sucks for hulk
weather seems to be playing in the favor of Mercedes
Down goes a redbull
Damn was hoping Ferrari would have split Mercedes.
God damnit Renault
It's so weird how RBR has taken such a huge step backwards this year. It's as big a step back as Ferrari has stepped forward.
It certainly looks like Ferrari pace is there. Mercedes needs to mind the tires and the strategy or they'll cough it up again.
Well this is getting interesting.
Are y'all watching on nbc?
Could the difference this season be how much easier the Ferrari chassis is on tires versus the Mercedes?
Very well might be.
Watching this shit live and not being able to fast forward through the commercials really fucking sucks.
Kimis gonna pass fernando. That's not gonna feel great for Alonso.
Have only ever watch it on a sky stream. Commercials during a race isn't right.
Yeah well 'Murica.
Love it. McClaren actually got some screen time. And then crash.
Sky commentators are horseshit.
Safety car! Can they get this picked up in just two laps?
What a fucking comedy of errors.
And a Bronx cheer after they got the car free.
Unbelievably poor marshaling there. If the marshals had their shit together and Charlie was feeling froggy, they could have got the safety car in with one lap to go.
Why is hamilton considered British vs English?
Nico is such a whiny bitch
