The problem was 75% Bob Sutton not having his guys not properly prepared week and and week out, with the rest a split between needing some pieces and his total disinterest in adjusting. The problems weren't schematic. The Coordinator was just a lazy fucking asshole.
Because I don't think it's unrealistic to wonder why they're going to fuck with one of the best pass-rushes in the NFL?
They were tied for first on sacks and were in the upper half for pressures. That was with Orlando Scandrick taking lots and lots of meaningful snaps, too.
Right, their pressure percentage was like 0.2% better than being smack in the middle. Pressures are the best indicator of things that translate. Think how bad the defense would be if you regress to the mean with the sacks and still can't do anything else.
That's kind of the whole point of drafting talent and placing it around with the bright spot you already had on Defense over tearing everything down and basically starting over.
The reason the Pat's converted those three consecutive third and longs to win the game was purely scheme. Same looks back to back with Brady and playing a safety 18-20 yards deep. There's no excuse for that, Brady will kill you every time
Right. It was a constant failure to execute fundamental shit week in and week out and 0 capable starters at CB. It didn't matter if they ran nickel, dime, 4-3, 3-4, zone, man to man or whatever. A lot of key guys constantly didn't do basic things without aborting it all. E: Well Nelson was somewhat capable, but had some massive breakdowns in play. Fuller went a long period of time being completely god awful.
Yeah, they played far off man coverage and gave his receivers plenty of time to work routes for easy completions. It was half retarded and half compensating because they had shit at corner.
Running two down lineman on that first drive knowing the pats were going to run it down out throat was the most frustrating thing to watch. We didn’t really adjust until midway through the third quarter on our front.
Just curious but was the percentage of passing plays the chiefs saw vs league average. When you’re up by 20 in the second quarter you’re going to get a lot more sacks. They set the NFL record for most first downs given up by like 15. And their run DVOA was the worst since like 1970 something right?
He chose to play some of the worst defenders in the league for 14 weeks, then proceeded to have a man scheme so bad that 3 white dudes caught like every ball against NE. Not to mention he took serviceable ILBs and made them look like freshmen.
After further review, fuck you tony. You just pissed all of independence, Gladstone, ray town, and all of the other white trash Missouri cities.
I’d like to brag that I took Mahomes to win the MVP at the beginning of the season at 50 to 1 for $100. I’m now $5,000 richer
On a related note I have a kid on the way and I’m about to spend all of my money on Mahomes onsies and bibs.
No way can they swing 21.5 mil cap hit on Houston and 17-something mil for Dee Ford franchise tag after he argues for DE designation and gets it. 15m base salary isn't horrible for a good OLB and they should land a pick for him.
Ordered this when I was drunk last Sat night https://mahomes15.com/collections/m...as-city-pop-culture-01?variant=12984476958775
I hope this means the Chiefs will not spend much in free agency, or use any of their second or third round picks, on a RB. Some of the mocks that have them using one of their second rounders on one are frustrating.
I know he's a major cap hit but I'd rather keep Houston and let Dee walk. Houston is the much more complete player. Ford is a pass rush specialist. If you thought teams ran all over us last year, wait for them to run right at Dee Ford's side in the 4-3. RB's don't matter in today's NFL. It's sad but that's just how it is with all the rules geared toward protecting QB's and not being able to touch the WR. Don't spend money on one, and don't spend anything higher than a 4th round pick for one. Every draft pick should be OL or Defense.
Not sure I would be opposed to both going. Houston can't stay healthy and Ford doesn't really fit the new defense. Plus this is a pretty deep defensive draft. That would free up about 38 million.
Also, Berry isn't going to have surgery. Either another year of waiting on him to play or he's gone too.
