A little less than what New England got for Chandler Jones, but CJ was better and younger I think and didn't have chronic back issues. Veach did well given the situation.
Guess this means we are going all D in the draft. It will be interesting to see if we get any other signings today.
I would think Golden Tate would be a good pick up since the #2 WR by default becomes DRob when Sammy misses his usual 6 games.
I wasn't a big Dee fan and am glad we didn't give him a long-term deal. He was a horrible fit for the 4-3 anyway. Our defense is currently a dumpster fire: Speaks - Jones - Nnadi - Tanoh LB - ??? Fuller - Badger - Sorensen - ? Berry is probably going to get cut, I'd imagine. LB corp was pathetic last year and doesn't look any better for next year. Ragland and Hitchens are supposed to be run stoppers but we got torched on the ground. They're both bad. O'Daniel.. who knows. Veach is going to have to hit a homerun this draft because last year was an absolute nightmare. We kept giving up draft capital to move up and draft guys that were going to fall to us anyway.
Thank god. He did a lot and went through a lot in KC, but he’s continued to prove he’s not worth it over the last 7 months. Had the chance to fix the problem and to play and chose not to do it. If he goes into the OR on Feb 1 this is a different conversation, but again he said fuck it.
Had to happen. Health is the most important attribute a player can have in the NFL, and Berry clearly doesn't have that.
Heard the surgery involves cutting the tendon so it's like a rupture to recover from. Don't know if he would be good enough after two of those.
The way understand it is that it’s just redistribution options for the cap relative to 19 and 20. 9/6 or 1.5/13.5
Basically, yeah. They can wait till June 1st for the relief since they will really need around that amount he'll provide for rookies and to sign guys during the year. 2020 they have tons of space to absord the rest of the blow. Berry was one of my favorite players, but I just don't see how his heel is going to get better at all without surgery. Once he decided not to do it, it was time to cut bait. Thanks for the years dude, but good riddance.
Yeah considering where this team stands, the Ford trade for a 2020 pick made no sense, so I was beginning to assume that would be ammo to move up this year.
I can get down with that for the price and structure. If he goes all Phil Gaines we’re not out much. If he plays well enough to max the $5M then great.
We supposedly had him on our short list before the deadline. Media types, anyway. Veach wasn’t doing shit.
Dudes going to be everywhere next year. Mahomes endorsing Oakleys. https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/nfl...storic-deal-oakley-strive-best-130020310.html
I dug around some since I'm sick as heck and laid up in bed anyhow. It sounds like Tyreek broke the kids arm and his lady is trying to take the fall so he doesn't get banished from the NFL if they can't get it buried completely.
The first one could have been from the hospital and it seems the second report is maybe a continuation of the first and not a separate incident.
Yeah, but I was referring to the supposedly two separate incidents. If it's about the same one than that makes more sense.
Ok so this is what I learned. The kid went to the hospital in Dec/January. Mandatory reporters reported and it was cleared by law enforcement. On March 5th or so he got the cast off (most likely) and the cleared report came to light or was finalized once the injury healed. Sounds like a misguided attempt to amend the report to remove Tyreeks name is the second report being thrown around. I’d really like to believe this version.
Draft wise: it was essentially the same move being talked about for the past few months. Trade 29 and a 2020 2nd rd pick to sign a edge in this years draft. Signing Clark complicates things on the financial side, but as others have said here this probably means we don't extend Hill. Really hope we can sign Jones; this would solidify our DL for the next 3 years.
It’s hard to disagree with not wanting to invest long term in Tyreek based on what’s going on with him right now. I wonder if we tag him after next season then move on after that, if he ever plays for the Chiefs again.
