I know how it works. The official time for Eagles wound up being a 4.49 so still plenty fast. Moreover, if you think a 6'4 215 pound 17 year-old ran faster than any recorded time ever at the NFL Combine you're a fucking idiot.
Having worked these camps before, I know that the thumb pads can be overridden and run manually by controls that the person conducting the drill keeps in his hand. Not sure that it is still encouraged, but marquee players used to receive some preferential times, b/c it would get more hits for the articles.
I stood right next to the guy running the controls and he helped my nephew with some instructions on his takeoff to improve his time. It helped him go from a 4.55 to a 4.43 or something like that. There was nothing like what you were describing going on.
All of these combines are held outdoors with some in some pretty windy conditions. Any great athlete running with a 10+ mph wind at their back can put down a stupid times. They run the 40's from each 40 yard line to the end one on both sides of the field. So one side could be running with a strong wind at their back, while the others have it in their face. It's not a true combine setting like the NFL, you fucking idiot.
Just for you buddy I pulled up the weather report for the two days at the Colts Practice Facilty where the event was held. First let me preface this by saying the fields being used faced East-West. On Friday, June 9th the wind was blowing on average 9mph 75 degrees northeast during the time in which the players were on the field. On Saturday, June 10th the wind was blowing on average 12mph 70 degrees northwest. My point is none of these kids has wind in their faces or at their backs, but rather side to side. So unless these kids are getting blown off course by roughly 10mph winds, your point is moot. So please quit talking like you know exactly what you're talking about, because twice now it's been proven that you don't.
I know the difference. It's up for debate. Just provide facts that back up your statement. And nice deflection of the real point of my post.
Also don't you think there would be at least an article acknowledging the feat if he had actually broken the combine record, wind or no wind? http://www.milesplit.com/articles/2...-to-take-adidas-boost-boston-games-boys-title Here's an article by Mile Split, the nation's leading website for track news acknowledging Baylor commit Kalon Barnes for breaking the Texas Boy's 4A 100m time with a 10.22s sprint. Not as impressive as breaking the combine record. If you look for anyone acknowledging Eagles' supposed feat anywhere you won't find anything except the kid tooting his own horn. What does that tell you?
its a good thing we have you monitoring all this for us and not allowing any fake times slip through the cracks
Dude you're acting like a jackass trying to convince me that Eagles ran a 4.21 forty yard dash by bringing tailwind into the equation when it wasn't a factor. It is funny though how you are just deflecting my comments which, to me, stand to reason that you've accepted defeat when it comes to your blind arrogance, but don't want to admit it to protect your damaged ego.
Spoilered so that most don't have to read through it... Spoiler I used to own the laser system that Nike/SPARQ uses at their HS combines (along with the jump pads that they use for testing verts, which are not exact either, and give better scores). They have the manual override control for every unit, just in case if the thumb pad dies on them or if the timer isn't receiving the signal from it, they can still operate and get testing scores. I've seen instructors still have the guys put their thumb on the pad, and then start it manually (not insinuating that this is what they did with your nephew, but it happens, and it used to happen for the kids that they "needed" good times out of. Your nephew did run fast, but don't treat it like an NFL Combine equivalent time. I used to work the Nike/SPARQ circuit (albeit, the last that I worked was nearly a decade ago), and have been to Indy with players that did Combine prep work with the company I worked for at the time. The HS combines use a pressure sensor thumb pad, that once the pressure is let off, the timer begins. It can be cheated by using a rolling start, where your body has already started moving, but you leave the thumb on the sensor as long as possible (can't do that at the Combine, since they base starting times on absolute first movement [that is why you don't see a lot of guys in Indy with their free-hand raised high, during their 3pt start stance; the timer would start as soon as their hand flinches to start the run]). The finish line is different too. The HS sensors are tripped by whatever part of your body that breaks the laser beam first. If you throw your hands in front of you to cross the beam, the timer stops. You can still be half of a stride behind the laser and stop it. At the Combine, the timer stops when it senses the halfway point of your torso/hips crossing the laser. That might seem insignificant, but it makes the difference of a couple to several tenths of a second.
What an amazing tangent. Now I know that not only does Campbell have a direct line to Herman, he is also a part time scout/metoeorgist/physicist. This is also not including is superb knowledge of the Lsat.
Yeah I know how it can be manipulated with the rolling start, but I don't treat it like an NFL combine number... which is one of the reasons why I said it's not a true NFL combine setting.
guys, this is a recruiting thread. i don't give a shit about the weather. all football should be played indoors away from it anyway.
I was giving Bo the benefit of the doubt in assuming he was making a joke with "mute" point. But now I'm not so sure =/
HAHAHAHAHA someone lost their job and can no longer pay their mortgage or afford to feed their family LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Really though Hamm got caught turning down an offer to chug a mason jar filled with yell leader semen.
DE John Mincey out of Georgia commits to Arkansas. Rivals says he was offered by UGA (doubtful), Florida, Miss St, and Auburn. 247 also lists LSU and Tennessee. Jake Scott or Fran Tarkenton yall know anything about him?
He's in real estate. He'll be fine. Moreover, you don't even care. You're just looking for a reason stroke your own ego. Get off your high horse. He constantly was trying to undermine the coaches and telling parents that he'd be better for their scouting department than the coaches themselves. A&M obviously didn't like that.
True, but still he was terrible at his job in many aspects and the essence of Hammster was personified when he followed Steven Parker into the pisser.
He would constantly say A&M has a legit shot with the superstar players to sell a narrative and then slowly backpedal and let his fan base down easy only to culminate at the end of the day by selling another narrative that it's because he's not on the staff that A&M isn't recruiting well.
it wouldn't be the first time that A&M had a shot at something but only slowly but surely lose the lead on it and lose it completely
