Never been but have always heard good things. Maybe a stop off there during our running with the bulls trip?
I’m not seeing how that’s insane at all. I’d pull up a damn stream over watching that garbage. Pretty sure their coverage and decision making was the worst implementation anytime ever across sports. Hell I’d even put the NHLs decision to put their product on a bull riding channel above this. Also it’s 2020 how is Uefa not smart enough to create their own content and roll it out for a fee? It’s the most global sport in the world. The NBA makes enough money in China to have their top players placate to communism for Christ’s sake.
looooooolllllllll at signing up for ANOTHER subscription-only site. Jesus fucking christ with these fucking networks.
They already had the rights after this so it likely would’ve only been short term that it wasn’t like this if it went to someone else. Sucks, hopefully it goes terribly and they rethink their strategy
I was following this and on the possible outcomes, this is towards the bottom of the scale (1 best to 5 worst) 1. B/R just removes paywall and puts games on TNT/TBS, but realistically never going to happen. 2. Ended up with ESPN and their family of multiple network channels (or Fox, possibly NBC), basically it "just works" for anyone with a cable package 3. Ends up with a network who puts in a paid package we already have (ESPN+, NBC Sports Gold for me) 4. Ends up with a network who puts into a new/other paid package (CBS All Access, Peacock etc.) 5. PPV Nuclear: No one picks up the English language rights here and we are up a creek for this season.
Sadly, I think the trend here with CL rights will continue for a while longer. CBS Access? Who has that besides Star Trek superfans? But I guess, let's be real: no one could have blundered it like Turner and the B/R Live brand. Surely CBS All Access won't be as bad.
Key bits Turner’s B/R Live pass costs $9.99 per month. CBS All Access starts at $5.99 per month with commercials, so if fans are willing to sit through ads, they may even be able to save a bit of money. Without commercials, CBS All Access costs $9.99 per month. CBS All Access plans to deliver more than 300 UEFA matches each season, and select matches will be available on CBS proper and CBS Sports.
Are they going to insert ads into the game by shrinking the game screen or will there be half time commercials?
No, when you open them and you have different ones during breaks We're not far away from small picture-in-picture ads though
Unless CBS is planning to "innovate" and "disrupt" then ads will almost definitely be the same... small static logos during play next to the score bug and traditional ads at half-time.
Though NBC Sports does force you to watch 1 video add when you load up a stream, before it starts playing the game. also news today for EPL: NBC Sports Gold for EPL is getting rolled into Peacock. https://www.engadget.com/peacock-premier-league-matches-streaming-nbc-sports-gold-160054895.html
I'm not sure if it classifies as "picture-in-picture" but golf goes split screen to show ads during play. Left-hand side shows the on-going golf whereas the right-hand side (and sound) are the commercials. Obviously not at all times but throughout the broadcast.
Yikes, what an awful decision. And I mean that strictly from a “having to visit Manchester, England” standpoint.
Atletico, Leipzig, Atalanta, PSG is one side of the bracket so one of those teams will be in the final.
While the biggest names are on the other side of the bracket, I wouldn’t love playing Atletico or PSG. City need to keep it turned on the last few weeks of the season to be in form for Real, they’re playing well.
Real has been squeaking out results since the restart, I wouldn't describe them as in form, I wonder if nexus would rate differently.
Well Liga isn’t a 1 team league like the EPL. There aren’t any Villas or Norwiches or Tottenhams where you can just automatically bank on 3 points. The haters, of which there are many, are saying Real isn’t firing on all cylinders. Sid Lowe and the rest of the Fake News Deep State would have you believe that it’s luck but Madrid has great players, the best players, and will prove that on the pitch against low energy Pep.
Could be worse. I paid £100 for WOAT streaming service FFCTV this year. Spoiler and will again if we don’t get promoted
yeah that makes it an even worse investment. Only the games that aren’t on ESPN+ (like the last game against Forest) are on FFCTV. So I pay that for the right to watch just over half the matches
Yeah wtf. Atalanta have been on fire. Huge matchup this weekend. Plus RBL won’t have Werner Lastly he said extra subs was huge for smaller clubs. Wouldn’t the larger clubs with deeper benches be more likely to benefit from that? What the fuck is this guy talking about
I’m still angry about that clip for the record. Between that and the news that it seems these games will be behind a paywall I’m pretty turned off CBS already. Need to get a TUDN login and just watch in Spanish
Having a la carte streaming apps: cool and good. Being in between phases of media, where you’re a foot in corded TV and a foot in streaming apps: irritating and bad.
Living in an age where I can stream whatever I want with the power of the internet for absolutely free: priceless.
Deeper sub counts benefits a deeper bench and squad, don't know of any underdogs this year who have deeper benches than the favorites or "big name" clubs.
