He’s not wrong
I’m sure teams are just not gonna pay attention to a top 5 recruit
Yes he is
i get why he did it but selfishly i wish he hadnt because i would like to watch him play in college
but goodman is 100% wrong
Dump - do you think if Jennings or Mudiay played for 8 months in college instead of overseas, they'd be more successful pros?
He's right about the brand in terms of marketing. Zion or Morant arent going to be household names if they dont play in college. But he's a moron if he thinks front offices arent going to scout him just as heavily.
is this a serious question or just messing with dump?
Do you really think 7 months or w Coach K or Cal or Self makes you that much better of a pro than the same time w a foreign team?
Like Mudiay and Jennings would have longer NBA careers if they went to SMU or whereever Jennings was going to go?
First, the tweet says "few besides some NBA execs will be paying attention," so he's saying that basically only NBA execs are going to care what he's doing, which is probably pretty accurate. Second, he said it was going to affect his brand, not his draft stock. He won't have nearly the same name recognition as guys who play college ball, so his sponsor deals will likely suffer, at least initially.
Supposed Hauser announcement in roughly 25 minutes
the league choice is strange, supposedly he will make $65k for his year there
1. I have a hard time believing that kansas and memphis couldn’t match that
2. why not go to china where you could make a million?
please take them
what is going on with them? i could have sworn i read posts last week saying they had committed to wisky and then committed to uva or something
Adidas can’t shell out more than 65k? The fuck?
Sam to you guys
Joey to MSU
Gave UW a verbal
Mom said no
these guys seem like they will pan out really well wherever they go
it's a baffling move for us from a roster management standpoint - heard plenty that Bennett wants it and some assistants have openly said not to take them
Make mom proud!
Emma when discussing the Hauser twins
I think 7 months of NCAA basketball is better developmentally than 7 months of being a pro in a foreign country for a kid coming out of high school. It kinda depends on the individual kid I guess. Myself at that age, I would've needed the structure of college life/scheduled practice/scheduled lifting/nutritional support, etc. As opposed to complete freedom to do whatever aside for showing up to practice and games for a pro team in Australia
It's because we are now thin as fuck as a whole
they could have been the next Dekker and Kaminsky
Im not saying there aren't things beneficial to going to college. I just think there are other variables at play to say "Hey look at these two guys that burned out of the NBA quickly, it's because they didnt go to college" . There are lot of lotto picks that went to college and burned out too.
In China teams are limited to like 1 American and they typically reserve that for higher caliber guys.
We still have like 3 guards and 9 frontcourt players I don't know wtf we are going to do next year.
agreed...again it depends on the kid. Do you want to work on your game at the college level for 1 year against better competition, find out what you need to work on from your single season so you have a better understanding of next level bball or do you want to play against a bunch of Aussie/kiwi scrubs
WVU is the exact opposite
3 bigs and 7 guards/wings
Juwan Howard still has yet to arrive in aa. Looks like he does have Chris Mullin and Clyde Drexler nba work ethic after all.
shut the fuck up, clown
Nothing stopping Hampton from cashing the check then bailing. What is adidas going to do, admit to more crime?
I think you kind of need to separate Jennings and Mudiay, too. Jennings played 9 years in the league and burned out due to torn achilles more than anything. Mudiay's situation was a mess and he played 12 games in the joke Chinese league due to injury. I don't think Jennings would have benefited that much from college, but Mudiay could have. Neither has anything to do with Hampton or what Goodman said about the move (although Jennings got $2M from UA before he went to Europe for his endorsements).
Kansas is under the microscope.
-Pretty obvious they cant do shit right now.
As much as the money i got the impression Hampton had very little interest in going to college. Just like 95% of elite players.
I think he was getting some money from a Chinese shoe company also.
seventh woods appears to be walking on at south carolina until they have a scholarship next year
Interesting, could be a good fit with his defensive potential though
rumors former st joes hc Phil Martelli is headed to AA to be the AHC under Howard
Devon Dotson will stay in draft if he gets a 2 year contract as 2nd round pick. If so, then Tech can hang another banner.
Its 50/50 right now and will have answer in next 3 hrs.
Dotson pulled out of draft.
Guess nobody wants 6ft tall guard thats a mediocre shooter lol
Not surprising given the stuff that was rumored about him and his family not getting along with the staff, and how he and his Dad wanted to see him play point guard. I still thought he would just turn pro over transferring.
a guy itching to be one and done would rather sit out a year than go back to Lawrence, ouch
