So interesting to see the dichotomy between the nba and nfl
it’ll legitimately be a month plus before all the overseas players could resume team activities
What does KD care? He already got the Rona and won’t be playing anyway
KD cares because they didn't want to have to deal with him complaining about not including him.
I enjoy that Paul held a secret superstar conference call and didn't include Harden. Petty still undefeated, even during pandemics.
Also, the blatant disrespect of Jokic and the Nuggets continues with him not being on that call. So disappointing.
They had a superstar representative from the Rockets already
I'm not "angry at lists" guy, but some of these all-time rankings are odd. That seems really high for some of the current guys like Kawhi and Giannis, and I disagree on a lot of where they put guys from the 90s-10s.
SP1 Please turn your attention to #28
Oh I saw
As always, it comes down to what the actual criteria are. Seems like where they put people like Giannis and Walton was directly based on the idea of ranking how good guys were at their peak, despite the description saying was balanced between peak and career
Seems weird for a guy as young as Giannis, when we might not have even seen his peak yet.
It's impossible to make lists like this without contradicting yourself no matter the criteria. But "balancing" peak and career is impossible and sets you up for failure no matter how you try because you're just going to contradict yourself constantly.
The Pippen thing is interesting to me. They rank him 21, and it feels like there's this massive thing in recent years to talk about how underrated Pippen was in his time (even though he was constantly recognized during his career with awards). I don't know what to do with him, but putting him ahead of Barkley and Isiah from that era seems a bit much for my taste. Even putting him ahead of Wade seems like a stretch.
Kawhi seems fair. Giannis is high but seems like they're prognosticating forward.
Always weird trying to rank guys from odd eras, like Mikan for his era was the GOAT but is in the 30's?
Karl Malone too high. Steph over Durant is dumb. Top ten is mostly reasonable. I come and go on Russell being ahead of say Magic but not enough to really argue about.
One of the only things I'll credit Simmons with is that the only way to do this "correctly" is to use tiers. Because splitting hairs between guys like that is impossible.
And even then..finding those lines of demarcation is pretty damn hard impossible.
Yeah, it's definitely impossible. I'm mainly intrigued by Pippen because every basketball person who talks about him is always telling me how underrated he was, and yet I look at all the accolades he got and how people talk about him and I don't get how that can be the case. I get that he was always the sidekick, but being Jordan's sidekick got him 6 rings and more credit than he would have gotten any other way. Given what people say about his personality, it's also likely that he doesn't become the player he did without Jordan dragging him along in those early years.
Also, just hit me that I've been talking about NBA greatest players on the internet for a solid 20+ years now. Can remember the arguments about Shaq being included in the top 50
It's a great topic
I currently have an Evolution... I also really like TF-1000s from Spalding.
As good as he is now, his peak is somewhere in the top 10
He'll be in his Prime in Miami tho
Luka too low
This is usually the time of year for playoff meltdown cousin Javy, thought I’d touch base
This is the content we need during these trying times.
harden was too busy browsing stripper onlyfans accounts to get on the call anyway
our high school played w/ spalding TF-1000's. our college rec had spaldings as well.
starting playing w/ wilson evolutions after college for pickup games and men's league and have one now. wilson is hands down a better ball
If you haven't watched Game of Zones, I highly suggest doing it. This final season has been so good.
I've enjoyed the media stuff to this point. I wanted to cry about Lowe's fate in ep3, but I feel like that's how he would have wanted to go out.
Such a freak
Quick debate question.
I think one of the worst suspensions was the 2007 playoffs when they gave Amare & Diaw the 1 game suspension after Horry hip checked Steve Nash. Series was tied at 2 after that game with it going back to Phoenix. Lose game 5 without Amare & Diaw by 3 points.
IF they dont get suspended do the Suns win the championship that year?
But first, Pearl Jam.
Welcome to our first episode of the Resuspendables
lmao he busted his fucking ass
Most disrespectful moment in nba history just happened on nbatv. Lue actually played his ass off this game and was owning Iverson for a long period
My dad still gets mad about that.
As a Suns fan that was living in Texas at the time, that is a memory I've tried to purge from my memory. No doubt in my mind the Suns would've won it all that year. 13 years later, still stings when it's brought up.
Shaq 2000-2003 was the most dominant player I've ever seen in my life, think it was bullshit Duncan got 2 MVPs over him then
He was a go-to scorer for all but what like 2 or 3 years of his career and he shot 58.2%. That's just crazy. You don't see that out of guys unless they are someone like DeAndre Jordan who is just a finisher. Only other go-to scorers in the top 25 of career FG% are Kevin McHale, Kareem, Artis Gilmore, and Dwight Howard. Maybe throw in Buck Williams, and even then Dwight Howard hasn't really been a go-to scorer in the traditional sense.
congrats poor paul
also shouldnt be shocking since Fertitta is buddy buddy with known scumbag Gallant Knight
Go to sleep dump and shut the fuck up
if you did an all-time NBA Draft, id take Shaq #1 under the condition that he took conditoning / offseasons seriously
I take Kareem
