Drafting Hasheem Thabeet over Steph Curry and James Harden haunts me to this day
dont really know where this goes but it made me laugh
Yi Jianlian is already the king of chairs.
Thabeet will have to settle for wacky waving hand inflatable clown thingy.
LeBron and Rich flexing on em
Cam gonna be 7ft tall soon
those ATL unis still fucking suck
no one cares about the hawks or cam reddish
Will that allow him to shoot better than 40% from anywhere?
Yes. He's going to be the best rookie in this class now that he's playing with a top 5 PG instead of 2 ballhogs.
Did I say basketball player or point guard? Trae will probably lead the league in assists next season with Russ and Harden having to share one ball.
Every player i listed is a point guard. Eliminate 2
ShuPoor has a point
i would like to eliminate harden and steph.
makes my team's chances easier.
can I add to the list instead of eliminating?
It's funny people forget Trae was averaging almost 25 and 10 after the allstar break as a rookie.
By all means
And still struggled to be a value neutral player due to being literally the worst defensive player in the league
Is it really a crazy statement to say Trae Young is a player that Cam Reddish will benefit playing with instead of RJ Barrett who doesn't know what passing even means?
There's a reason that's the part of your post people AREN'T jumping on. Name the 2 PGs from that list that Trae Young is currently better than
What does this have to do with Reddish reaching his potential offensively?
Incredible how fast you've decided to pretend your first post just never happened
That was the whole point of my post to Corey Matthews. Cam will benefit from playing with a top 5 PASSING/PLAYMAKING PG instead of what he showed at Duke with RJ and Zion. You brought up Trae's defense which has nothing to do with Cam.
Just take the L, man
Keep moving those goalposts, buddy
Nah. You guys having some weirdo hate boner for Trae doesn't change the fact that he's probably going to average 10 APG this season.
But is he going to be a top 5 point guard? Because that was the original statement
I stated in my like 2nd post I didn't mean basketball player and it's clear that some of those guys on you list averaging 5 APG for their career wouldn't really help Cam be the player everyone thought he was in HS.
The entire point of my original post was Trae helping Cam reach his potential. It's not really hard to figure out what the fuck I meant.
Seems like it would have been much quicker to just say "no"
It's hard to imagine a college offense better for a spot up shooter than one featuring RJ and Zion, but there Cam was, shooting 33% on 7.6 3 point attempts per game.
Except he isn't a spot up shooter and was a playmaker prior to Duke.
So he is a playmaker but is going to benefit from playing WITH the guy who might lead the league in assists?
Nothing screams "I make plays" like shooting 39% from 2 with a 10% assist rate and 20% turnover rate while drawing the opposition's at best third best defender, certainly he'll be a better offensive player against stronger competition now that he doesn't have a generational talent stealing shots from him.
excuse you, have you not heard the good news about Trae Young?
He's better than Zion, but not as good as Trae. Therefore, Trae can't steal shots from him.
This hawks team has the following:
Top 5 pg
Top 5 player in the conference
Best rookie in the class
should compete for the east and definitely not have guys posting hollow per game stats in games that dont matter.
At least pimp Hunter, who you could at least make a non-frivolous case for having the best season this year amongst the rookies
the sad part is I think Trae actually showed some good playmaking ability and honestly impressed me the second half, especially for his size and age. it's just also *more* hilarious to see the hyperbole of hawks fans.
what's the point of over hyping guys?
when your front office trades away a generational talent for draft picks you have to grasp at something
sad thing is that this is gonna be ShuPoor in a season or two
We already have SGA, a top 5 point guard in the league to build around
TIL Trae Young is a top 5 pg
Is he really a PG? He probably wont average 10 assists per game.
I would take all of these players over Trae Young atm. Having said all that he just finished his rookie season so he still has plenty of potential to improve even further.
But Gaknight when you come in with hot takes like that or saying John Collins is a top 5 player in the east people will just disregard whatever you say after that regardless of the validity of the point you're trying to make.
Josh Smith is an MVP caliber player prove me wrong
Wait, people think Trae is a top 5 point guard? What on earth....
You guys can twist what I say around to help your narrative of hating Trae Young all you want. My statement on Collins, was when he came back from injury last season, he was playing like one of the best players in the east. I never stated there weren’t 5 better basketball players in the conference overall and y’all know this but keep trying to bring it up as some gotcha statement.
I’ve also clearly made my point known on what I meant by saying Trae Young is a top 5 PG and it has to do with his playmaking and passing ability. No one on planet earth thinks D’Angelo Russell or Victor Oladipo would help make Cam Reddish a better player than Trae Young and that was the entire point of my post.
