is overpopulation not a problem?
It is not, overconsumption is. Overpopulation is an empty headed excuse that is usually used as a precursor to justifying genocide (like Thanos did!)
We, as a species, currently produce enough food to feed 11 billion people. Any food scarcity people experience is a distribution problem, not a resource problem.
You could eliminate the population of Africa and make the same dent in worldwide carbon emissions as you would by eliminating like Dallas. Over three quarters of global emissions are attributable to only 100 companies.
With Hong Kong level population density, you could fit the entire world population in Japan. Saying overpopulation is the problem really just means you hate poor people. It's never the rich folks actually driving the climate crisis that get liquidated during a purge.
