That’s a lot of letters...
Almost August fellas.... time for Honest Preseason Predictions sure to go wrong
#Atlantic Coast Conference
Let's hear 'em
Gonna go out on a limb... Clemson 13-0 (8-0)
Syracuse over the 6.5 wins, Wake Forest over 6 wins
The Coastal Coastals as we continue forming bonds forged in mediocrity that last a lifetime
Wolfpack will be good to pretty good defensively. Offense will have a new qb and new OC and is thus a work in progress. Schedule is manageable so I’ll say 8-4 on average odds. 6-6 if things go poorly with 9 win potential.
As far as UNC goes, I liked what I saw from Fortin/Ruder last year in limited action, and I feel pretty confident in one of the 3 young qb's being able to grab the reigns. There's enough talent offensively to be solid on that side of the ball, particularly since I don't think it should be that big of an adjustment with the new system.
Defensively there's zero depth and we'll basically be scooping out water on a sinking ship until Mack can get a couple cycles in. The feeling (or maybe hope) though is that Bateman's already used to getting more out of less with his experience at Army, albeit with a possession based offensive.
Think 6 wins is a realistic goal for this squad, which I'd take and smile.
Wherever you can get a room. Two hotels in town are being used as student housing this year since they let 1000 more people than planned in.
Vegas has fsu win total at 7.5 which seems right. I'm thinking 7-5, maybe 8-4 if we stay healthy and some things break our way - like our terrible turnover luck last year regressing back to the mean.
Miami's defense should be elite again (barring the LB's going down). Cautiously optimistic about the offense -- one of the worst in the country last year between the offense and the punting so I don't think it can actually get worse.
Just need one of the QB's to break away from the pack, which if I had to guess would be Jarren Williams or Miami Martell.
Gotta be honest I hope Wake collapses on itself and dies with a whimper
Also upon further reflection I change our most likely outcome to 7-5. Just too much offensive turnover and too many road games against comparable teams. 8-4 if we get some breaks and a QB emerges.
fsu and ncst
except we don't have offensive turnover, our oline just sucks butt
Yea, opposite for us. Our elite pass blocking was what set us apart and not only did we lose our 3 best OL but our OL coach went to Louisville. Could be ugly.
Let’s hope Taggart continues to bumble around so Doeren can continue to tread water above the mediocre Atlantic.
i'm just excited to watch some high quality ACCtion this fall
all the preview podcasts i have listened to have been way too nice about wake's upcoming season. made me sick
They’re the worst. People forget that.
at least the triple option is finally out of the conference
Perry look better than both in the spring by a solid margin. I’d be shocked if he’s not the starter on day 1
No shit? Good to know, thanks!
Yep. Also things get booked pretty early for football weekends. Quick Hotels.com search give me 1 hotel in Christiansburg that is like a 7 min drive to campus and the the others are out by 81 which would be like 15 min drive.
dont get too comfortable, pitt loves to go at knees and target guys.
if you're coming into Blacksburg for a game you better book literally this week and even then I'm not sure what luck you'll have since VT fans have known about the hotel problem for a month or so now. hotel situation will be extremely tight for this year in the town. however, Salem and Roanoke are close and have some good hotels to stay at and it's a fairly easy gameday drive right up I-81.
this is why we would never let you into our ELITE conference #Notre Dame Fighting Irish
i dont think any ND fan would argue weve been anything but awful in almost all big games in the last 2 decades
i'd let them in
we could use the money
...the state of this conference
Gonna sneak up on a lot of people this year...
I believe we are ranked somewhere between 26 and 130
Loud and proud at #43
geez, end of an era
now he'll have even more time to devote to his main hobby of getting hammered at tots and hitting on college girls
As a Virginia fan, thank God.
and the coastal will be even easier....at what point do they get rid of divisions?
The coastal schools will never vote for that, so never.
I'd be pissed he's dipping out unless you can end that generational losing streak this year
He sees the writing on the wall of the Great Bronco Rising and wants out before he gets trampled.
I'd like to take this opportunity to register and trademark #GBR as the UVA hashtag of choice. I believe it would be unique and an easy way for Hoos fans to identify each other whilst interneting.
Look man when you have a generational losing streak you're not picky about how or why it ends.
Who won the most games over the last five years against other FBS teams? Wins against FCSers don’t count here.
1 Clemson 60
2 Florida State 40
T3 NC State 35
T3 Miami 35
5 Virginia Tech 34
6 Louisville 32
7 Duke 31
8 Georgia Tech 30
9 Pitt 29
10 Boston College 26
11 North Carolina 25
12 Wake Forest 23
13 Virginia 21
14 Syracuse 20
Crazy that the bottom two are considered the best behind Clemson coming in to this year
big confidence in manny here
UNC and Ga T in the top 3
Is that the same predictions that had Hilary winning
you just never know with that wacky ol' coastal
