Anyone else atm?
Chip n Chad
Chuck Martin at Miami OH
Last year of his contract
Can we get last names for our less educated posters
In before the self loathing Auburn fans throw out Gus' name.
Saban & Dabo didn’t even cover spread. Pathetic
Pretty much everyone we thought before the season started
Muschamp is a good one
Good, he will have a nice job as an analyst at Nd next year
I think taggart will be fired first
Is FSU able to cut Willie loose after this season or are they still in a financial bind?
We have the money.
You know what to do, make it look like it was gang retaliation
Les Miles (the 3 Kansas fans that care have the pitchforks out already)
Naw, now the OC you may have a point on.
We have an outgoing AD and president. I don't even know how a search would go, unless you wanted to completely farm it out to a search firm. I don't expect movement until those two dominos fall
Kelly is getting at least four years while he should be he isn’t until next year. If that makes sense.
Fuente for sure. Will survive this year (because of the buyout) but he'll be at the top of the list for 2020.
Im sure you know already, but the best course of action in these situations is to make death threats on Twitter and hope the ensuing chaos leads to the coach’s contract being voided.
Doesn't Muschamp have a buyout that SC can't really afford to take a hit on?
I think Willie won't make it to the end of the season edit, didn't know about the academic turmoil too
Didn't Diaz just get there?
What’s his biggest issue been?
In year 1???
Matt Luke should be, but we don’t have an AD or chancellor.
Eh, yeah. He's getting a minimum of 3 years and honestly he's likely there as long as he wants to be there.
Yes he just got there but they look really bad and don’t see it getting any better. I don’t know the particulars but I would think a first time head coach wouldn’t have a huge buyout.
I thought Fuente would do well. Fairly surprised how much he's struggled
has he struggled? he won 10 games in year one, 9 in year two, and then struggled last year when he didn't have a QB (iirc). no idea how va tech is supposed to do this year but i still think he's a good coach.
I know it's Vandy but how long do they give Mason?
- Personality or lack thereof. Sidelines are dead.
- Kids (though in fairness almost entirely Beamer kids) fleeing from program in droves.
- Can't recruit, hired almost entire staff with same lack of recruiting ability.
- Year 4 still no run game, which is fucking murdering us. We can actually move the ball via the air and the WR corps is the 2nd best in the conference behind Clemson but his offense is predicated off read-option and we don't have a QB who can run it and he seemingly refuses to put in the two actual dual-threats to try and change it.
- OC Brad Cornelson is fucking horrible but he's a friend from Memphis so he's going to let a shitty assistant tank his HC career just like Beamer did.
- His assistant hires have generally been terrible up to and including the guy he promoted to co-DC beside Bud fucking Foster and said guy went on recruiting trips and cheated on his wife on the school's dime.
- Near total program apathy. Nobody cares anymore.
It's just not happening. He's in over his head in P5, his ceiling is G5 and that's where he belongs. He has no ability to succeed on the level that VT is used to being on most years.
I'll be very surprised if he's HC in 2021 unless he makes a slam dunk hire at DC and most likely replaces OC and many offensive assistants as well.
I think his recruiting has been pretty bad
Who would be your top candidates to replace him as of now?
Old Dominium drinking his milkshake
Charles Joseph Weis
Not a fucking clue.
Nobody saw this coming with Fuente and our AD has made a lot of amazing hires in a short time so it sucks that this isn't working out but I think there's still mostly good faith in the fanbase for Babcock to strike out and get someone good.
Not hot seat but I could see these guys moving on soon
Gundy (doubtful but he has to be getting that stale feeling by now)
The best part about this is we'll toss Fuente out like the garbage he is, not go through a slow, lingering parting like they did with Beamer where sweat equity got him like 6 more chances than he should have had. VT owes nothing to Fuente so we get to move on like everyone else does when their coach goes down the shitter. The last like 7 years under Beamer was fucking agony because everyone knew how it was going to end and they refused to do anything about it because woe be to anyone who treats Beamer like an adult and explains to him that his days of coaching were over.
I could see Gundy in Tennessee in the next two years.
That's just wishful thinking on Patterson and Gundy. They pretty much have it made and are not performing at a high enough level to get anything more than a lateral position. Agreed on Rhule.
Yeah I dont agree with you in the slightest. Diaz has coached two games with a team that was gutted at a few positions and lost very close games to Florida and North Carolina. When was the last time a coach got fired in his first season without there being some kind of scandal or something?
Im not saying they wouldn’t be coaching but we all know how quick these guys are jumping ship or are getting fired these days
I mean, I'm not ready to fire him, and he is a million times better than the last 3 shit heads we have had (seriously fuck Turner Gill, the fucking woat)
But yesterday was an absolute shit show. At least I can buy beer in the stadium now.
True. That Florida loss is not bad but that loss to Mack Brown is fresh to the mind. I’m just saying if things keep going downhill and a big name pops up towards the end of the year I could see them cutting bait.
That was a hard fought, great defensive game.
Why would any big name go to Miami?
