ECU wins the series @ Wichita State
Vols win the series at Florida after scoring 4 in the seventh to take a 5-4 lead. The score didn't change again. One step closer to an at large bid. Tennessee hasn't been to the NCAA tournament in 14 years.
Hell of a weekend for the Dawgs. We need to take 2 out of 3 at aTm to hold on to the west.
Y’all are going to be an interesting case study for the committee, depending on what happens next weekend. Auburn might be in the same boat if we get swept at LSU.
If you finish 13-17, your RPI and SOS seem to say you’re good enough to get in. But I’ve only found 3 teams that finished with 13 regular season conference wins that made a regional (A&M ‘13 and ‘18, Auburn ‘15), and all three of those teams won at least one game at the SECT. So they really finished with 14+ total SEC wins. I think your metrics are good enough to get you in at 13-17 and no SECT win. Here’s to you winning the series and not having to sweat it.
VU got in at 12-19 in 2009 but beat LSU and So Car in the first couple games in the SECT to solidify their place
Here’s to hoping Tennessee doesn’t get in
Y’all should do that especially with their #1 out from the ejection this weekend.
Amen. UTenn hasn't been relevant in 15 years. And Tim Corbin has been at VU for about 15 years. Funny how things work
Vitello is going to be pretty good there. One hell of a recruiter and a Van Horn protégé
I heard the same thing about Jeremy pruitt
Jeez ASU has cratered since their hot start
Tracy Smith gonna be fired. He was so good at IU
Weren’t they like 20-1 at some point? I remember their record was insane
I think it got up to something like 25-1 or 26-1
I’m not trying to say he’s going to be legendary or anything, but he’ll be good. He’s already better than Pruitt
Can’t wait to host in the new Dude. Gonna be wildin as the kids say.
We have a one game lead over Miss State going into the final weekend. We're at A&M and they host the cocks.
It’s first pitch week for my dad. Can’t wait to be at the game Thursday night. Hope the weather is decent. I’ll share the video on here afterwards.
Who has the H2H with you and State? I’m too lazy to look it up right now.
We swept them
need to go 3-1 this week at minimum to have a hosting chance
Wvu Pitt tonight at pnc park
unc with a can't lose game tonight against high point. that transitions into three must win games against state this weekend
I thought we just needed to go 3-1 tho
they're all must wins at this point of the year (except for tonight's can't lose)
Bump for wvu-pitt tonight
Games being played at PNC Park
is there an echo in here lol
I put this together because Auburn seems to be in this situation often and because I’m a nerd and I way overthink these things. Here is the success of SEC teams making regionals at 13-, 14-, and 15-win regular seasons since the start of the current regional format in 1999.
13-win seasons: SEC teams are 11 of 26 in making regionals with a 13-17 or similar regular season record. When those teams had an RPI of 30 or less, those teams qualified for a regional 8 of the 10 times. Above 30 RPI? Just 3 of 16 times. The biggest outlier was LSU in 2011, who finished with a 23 RPI but got left out.
14-win seasons: These teams made regionals 13 out of 19 times. RPI less than 30 was 12 of 13. The only time a team didn’t qualify for a regional with a 14-win record and a 30 or less RPI was in 2000. But if you’re RPI is over 30, only 1 team with 14 wins qualified in 9 opportunities.
15-win season: Teams have qualified 20 of 26 times, and 15 out of 15 with an RPI less than 30. RPIs between 30-40 have gone 4 of 6.
This Pitt team is bad. Up 9-1 in the 7th
I can't imagine losing a series to them
wait one goddamn minute
I think that’s in response to the losing a series to Pitt comment
9-4 win over Pitt
Nick Snyder is great once again. 7IP 3H 1 R 11K 3BB
Wvu beats pitt 9-4
We rebounded by shutting out High Point in a mid week game. Everything is coming together with a major victory like that
Would you say tonight’s win was a HIGH POINT in yalls season?
TCU just lost to Lamar 10-5 in Fort Worth
Hahaha, oh shit that wounds my soul....
Ole miss loses to Arkansas state. That’s 4 straight losses for them
State wins against LaTech last night. We didn’t lose a mid week game all year and lost only one non conference game.
I can’t hate. We had to go to extras last night to beat North Alabama 8-7 in 11 innings. Our midweek pitching is almost nonexistent because we’ve had to take some of the guys we were counting on for the midweek and move them to weekend duty due to injuries and others not performing.
They had a 5-0 lead in the middle of the 8th @ Ark St. Gave up 2 in 8th and 4 in the ninth.
That’s not great!
Bless their hearts
