why not? not arguing just curious about the logic. I guess i'm looking at positional scarcity and the dropoff in weekly points from Adams to Edelman/Diggs/Cooper not being that great

Because I think Johnson is a question mark. He’s been hurt and is in a new offense with a rookie QB and rookie HC.

Hopkins is the best WR and Adams is a top WR in a great offense. You pair that with your RB’s and you got a stew going.
Plus, now your team is more balanced.

I'm really high on Johnson which is influencing my thoughts. That and knowing there would be quite a few teams with a serious lack at RB I could trade with.

I guess really either way I should be okay given my keeper situation and picks (extra 3rd, 8th, & 10)

I'd stay away from Leveon personally, he's going 5th overall in a lot of leagues and it's just too much for a guy that has a history of issues and is an unknown offense

    Ok more clarity...

    YOU GET TWO KEEPERS:
    1. One person at 2X what you paid to get them at auction last year. If they have no value next to their name, then you get to have them for 2 x $1 = $2. Not bad.
    2. One person at 1/2 of their posted Average Draft Auction Value as per standard $200 Auction leagues with standard scoring today using the following link:

    http://g.espncdn.com/s/ffldraftkit/18/NFLDK2018_CS_NonPPR.pdf

So I kept Hunt for $3 and had to keep him last season for only $6

I didn’t. I was trying to give More explanation of how my keeper situation works to help decide to pick 2. That’s was the example of last season because I originally got Hunt for $3 before Spencer got hurt. So last season I kept him for $6

    We haven’t selected keepers yet

What are we expecting from Rodgers?

I only want to keep Saquon and not Rodgers and Kittle.

I think I can get one of them back while upgrading at RB and WR since most of the league will keep 3-4 players.

I don’t think you can go wrong but Johnson is very intriguing to me. His 2016 season was absolutely stupid. Arizona in general was a dumpster fire last year and I think it has to be better this year.

2 years ago is a long time by NFL standards. I get the hesitation to draft him at 5. Not saying it's a bad pick or anything but I seem to be leaning towards Hopkins in that spot more and more ...

My only hesitation is the middle tier RBs have a lot of risk.

    Dalvin-great talent can’t stay healthy
Mixon- great talent but Cincy is awful and should be passing a ton
Kerryon- getting too much hype and probably won’t be worth his ADP
    Fournette- can’t stay healthy

I could go on but I can’t fault someone for taking Johnson over Hopkins or Adams

Yeah I wont say you shouldn't take him there, but some of those guys are the reason I'm cool with Nuk as early as 5 (or Adams if you really wanna). I feel OK starting with an RB from that territory, and in general think there are good places to take more shots at RB throughout the draft :twocents:

6 point leagues really don’t change much on rankings, only drops a running an like Cam or Lamar down.

Man after about round 5-6, shit gets thin this year. More so than I remember in past years. Used to get guys in r10 that I felt were studs. All flyers that late this year imo.

Round 1 was keepers. Snake draft starting with Julio in round 2. I'm team 4. Don't love it. I kinda wish I had taken no QB and just got Rivers in the last round but honestly there's nobody after me taking Luck that I'm like oh I wish I had that guy.

I pick 8th in a non-ppr 10 team. The first and second picks will be hard to screw up, relatively speaking, but man am I having a difficult time deciding going running back or wide receiver first.

I basically have one of or both Hopkins/Adams there. Then guys like Conner, Chubb to consider. I don’t necessarily think those backs should be picked there, but I have 4 picks that go behind this one. Likely those RBs won’t be there and I’m not a huge fan of Mixon, Cook, etc. Gurley is risky but something I’ve been considering. Could also take Conner, Chubb first and hope like Julio slides, or take OBJ/Thomas with second pick.

I’m also in a standard league and have been for years. My rule of thumb is to take RB’s early and often. I think if I’m late 1st rd I’m going to go with Chubb, Conner, Cook, Mixon with the 1st 2 picks and probably go TE or WR with the 3rd rd pick and back to RB with the 4th rd pick (Montgomery, kerryon).

Hear you there, definitely a classic strategy for standard leagues. I think I like the upside and injury/point stability that one of the top-flight receivers gives me. I've definitely done some mocks where I went RB-RB and didn't hate it. I've tried going Kelce second round if he's still there, but never like my team really when I do that.

I snagged Kelce in the 3rd last year and drafted that Mahommes kid to back up Wilson late, Pretty much dominated until the playoffs.

Gotta let the board play out. My advice: rank your top 15 players (should be pretty quick/easy). If you pick 10th (like me, 0.5 ppr), you’re guaranteed 2 of them.

Then just follow your board and trust your rankings. Could be WR-WR, WR-TE, or even RB-RB. But as long as you trust your rankings, just take the thinking/overanalyzing out of it and take the top 2 left at your picks.

  49. Harry Twatter

    Harry Twatter Brooks was here

This. But also, how you pick in those first two rounds will really determine your draft strategy later.

For instance, if you go WR-WR, you know you have to load up on RB’s to make up for that area of weakness. Vice versa if you go RB-RB.

Where do you see the most value per position in the draft? Do those tier 3, 4, 5 RB’s scare you?
