Well FIFA making shit up for VAR on the fly. Negating a possible penalty call because of a missed hand ball outside the box in the run-up to the potential penalty. I have yet to see them review anything that precedes the "penalty moment" in any soccer game that uses VAR. This is like reviewing a catch in football and saying no catch because of an non-flagged offensive holding call on the center back at the LOS. So how far back now can a ref go via VAR to see if something happened before the penalty area?
She did pull her down by the jersey for the Brazil penalty as the defender was falling. I'm ok with that one tbh. But the first one is a total joke use of VAR.
Keep in mind that these Aussies have been playing pretty much level with Thailand for the past couple of years
I didn’t see it so I can’t critique but I believe the grey area is phrased something like “if a foul occurs in the attacking phase of play leading to a goal/penalty.” Edit: found it: “Infractions that occur during the Attacking Phase of Play may negate reviewable, match-changing incidents during a match: goals, penalty kicks and red cards for DOGSO”
Italy celebrated going up 5-0 in the 81st minute. I expect several days of debate over their sportsmanship.
Should the women play on a smaller goal than the men? That poor Thai keeper just looks so short trying to cover the entirety of the goal.
It would be a lot better than 13-0 drubbing in the world cup finals. This Chilean goalkeeper gives me some hope.
After a wiki search this keeper is only 5'11. She looks like a giant out there though. My dreams are dashed.
