We were averaging 5.3 goals per half up until that last half vs Chile in which we scored zero. A sign of troubling times ahead? Should we as USWNT fans be concerned?

That's a hell of a potential knockout stage... Spain France(!) England/Norway/Brazil Germany/Sweden/Japan
Have you seen anything related to dates for the first match? Of course I’m flying definitely during the first day of first round and then additionally the semis first match for sure.
Italy/Nigeria is the only match on that entire thing that doesn't feature someone who can realistically win it.
It seems like they're applying it more in the WWC for some reason. I feel like any competition it has been used in hasn't been this wreckless
putting on a tin-foil hat to ask this question, but does Fox use VAR breaks to run ads? I can't remember.
I mean shit, if there was ever a time for FIFA/FOX to pull something of this sort, it'd be this tournament based on history. Grant Wahl tweeted that the Bundesliga used it like once every five matches this season...
Something is really off with VAR. This isn't a test. It was used last year at the men's World Cup and we didn't see anything like this. The game is being flat out officiated from the booth now. It's really really awful. I don't know if it is as simple as some new person is in charge of the war room and they suck or if it's a bigger FIFA issue though. It could just be one person in the booth is an idiot who keeps calling in.
I thought VAR was only gonna be used for offsides and potential penalties. Reviewing everything is fucking awful
Christina Unkel was on FS1 trying to defend this shit show and I decided I hate her. Then I decided to look up to see if she was related to known POS Ted Unkel....even worse, they’re married.
So far the PK retakes for the keeper leaving the line have been correct and the use of VAR in these cases has been consistent. The keeper has to keep at least one foot along the line during the kick. They all know the rule. Maybe it’s a dumb rule. But it is a rule and they are enforcing it correctly.
can you explain why they used VAR on the keeper coming off her line but not on the French players infringing in the box before the kick was taken?
In the scenario the laws of the game default to the more serious offense. The keeper coming off the line is considered to directly impact the outcome of the PK while the encroachment is not considered to directly affect the outcome.
That's not a penalty in the Brazil/Italy match. That's good, strong defending imo. She got between the player and ball.
