I’m all about trading Hill. 1) Because I don’t want to root for him and him catching passes from Lord Patrick makes me upset. 2) He’s a time bomb, he’s lucky to be a part of this league right now because his lawyer convinced his baby mama to shut her mouth. Get that out of this city.
I'm good getting rid of him for those reasons and it also makes sense. Its a lot of money off the books they will need & can probably still get a decent haul for him. They will need that $17/18 million/year for Pats next contract. Cut Watkins & throw the money at Chris Jones since hes our one good DL.
I just think with where we’re at we need to invest money outside the WR room. I believe Mahomes is the type of QB that can make the offense work without elite WRs. Obviously if situations arise for elite receivers without the baggage of Reek, it’s a different story. Team cut Watkins, move Reek, and invest our top picks into OL via draft or trade.
What was Wilson’s contract? $35 million per year? No way Pat signs for less than, $40~45 per year. We all agree he’s worth it. But the dynamics of the team will be so much different. Andy needs to find a legit D mind cause there won’t be as much money to burn on that side of the ball.
Agreed. Pat is on that Brady/Rodgers level in that he will make it work with what he has on the outside. Invest in Pat. Invest in the OL to keep him healthy. Get someone to get the D to be decent.
Agreed, once Pat is paid you cant afford Hill, Watkins & Kelce. I also dont think Spags is the guy to build a good defense on a budget. What would they get in a trade for Hill?

I don't know why but Pat also strikes me like Brady in that he'd take a paycut to buy better pieces to put around him. I don't think KC will have to go crazy with his contract for him to be happy if they ensure some good receivers are around.

Pat will milk his first extension for all its worth, which is fine. Sure the team quality will suffer, but I won't fault a player for wanting to be the highest paid player at least once. Not too worried about his targets. They are long overdue to find someone that can play LG worth a fuck, though. Has yet to happen in the Andy Reid era. Probably need to upgrade at Center too. And while I like Chris Jones, they should probably do a tag and trade if the market is right. Tell me more about this fantasy lore.

Also, if this is 3-4 weeks there is really no way we get someone off the street that can pick up the offense effectively and be really any better than Matt Moore over that span.
Brady has elite endorsement deals. I assume that has a lot to do with his willingness to take less in comp from the Patriots.
Counter: Our offense is going to have to change/be learned regardless This is why Andy makes so much money. They’re going to have to adapt the offense and figure out a way to win, because no one can run the offense like Pat does.
What we get in ability we lose in familiarity. It’s all a wash on the game day front, so losing capital for no gain doesn’t make sense to me.
