Which is highly ironic because somebody said at the time that one of the main reasons they went with Mahomes over Watson was that he won the white board in a landslide. May or may not be bullshit, who knows.
He may be capable of it, but I know that the system he played in at Tech doesn't require it/it's not that important. They make most their reads presnap and have an idea where they're throwing the ball
You could say that about 80% of the QB's coming out of college. That's kinda why teams have a hard time developing them. I'd say Andy Reid knows what he's doing.
Hey you can blindly follow all you want. And I agree 100% that it's a huge problem. But to me, that doesn't justify giving up what we did to draft a QB out of a system that doesn't produce NFL QBs
You're saying the same shit people said about a QB that is starting for Packers now. "All Tedford QB's are dog shit" You seem convinced he's a bust before he takes a snap. If you want to die on that dumbass hill, feel free.
OK and I can say if you want to go ahead and believe all coachspeak you hear from everyone, you can die in that dumbass valley. Have fun! I'd say I've added far more than just saying he's not going to be shit...but you do you.
I'm more baffled by those that are blindly following/supporting what the Chiefs do, than anyone that questions what they do. It's not like they have a track record of picking the right QB's, or putting together teams that win championships
Who said I took the Chiefs word he was gonna be good? I've seen him work in camp and a lot of great throws at Texas Tech. All you've said is hurr Air Raid QB. The kid hasn't even taking a single fucking snap and you're losing your shit. But hey, lets take a look at the great list of successful QBs with a velocity under 50.
Says that questioning a qb based on the scheme he plays in college is silly. Then he says throwing velocity should be a metric to base future success. What the hell is going on in here?
Blindly following/supporting > pretending I know more than professional talent evaluators and one of the best QB coaches in the NFL
I wasn't huge on the pick but I am a fan of going with the high ceiling boom or bust guy over the lower ceiling more of a game manager ala Alex Smith in Watson. I don't know much about Mahomes as I don't watch much Texas Tech football, and given how this team has handled things in the last couple years with Justin Houston's knee issues, cutting Jaye Howard, the whole Maclin situation, it's hard to put a lot of faith into the franchise right now, but Andy Reid knows a thing or two about QBs so I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. Hopefully he looks good tonight.
No. You took it wrong. I think generalizing QB's is stupid. I threw it out there really to match his pigeonhole theory. They're both going to be fine, hence why I said people are going to be stupid for shitting on this class in the NFL thread. They're both going to pan out and Ned just looks like a whiny bitch. I don't even hate Watson. He just reminded me a lot of Alex Smith coming into the draft and I'm ready for something different. He's perfectly fine for what Houston was looking for.
Smith and Mahomes but looked pretty damn good last night so that's a plus. Unrelated, but Watson was 3/10 for Houston.
Per Ian Rapoport, Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware’s ACL “is believed to be intact” after he was carted off during the team’s preseason game Saturday. Andy Reid has called Ware’s injury a sprained knee. Ware will undergo an MRI Saturday “to determine the extent of his knee sprain and to see if there’s damage to the meniscus, PCL, or MCL.” Rapoport also stated the injury is “not expected to end his 2017.”
Look, as a dude who was born in KC, grew up watching the Steve DeBerg, Dave Krieg, Christian Okoye, Barry Word, Dale Carter, Derrick Thomas, Kimble Anders, Marcus Allen, Neil Smith, James Hasty years, ANNNND went to Tech through the Leach years and have watched all the Mahomes games that means I'm more than qualified to a settle all this Mahomes shit. He's gonna be awesome. Yeah, Tech sucks, we wasted his talent, he's unorthodox, has poor mechanics and footwork and all that shit. But the dude does unreal shit with the football, moves around escapes pressure and makes crazy accurate throws from terrible positions and on the run and he always just makes it work. It's crazy. I spent three years going, "don't do that!" followed by "how did he do that?!" He's going to be good. I don't think I'm being biased. Maybe I am. But who for. The Chiefs? Or Tech? Christ I don't know. Shit, he's gotta be better than Grbac, right?
Well if the Clemson guys can be biased for their guy you're perfectly entitled to be biased for the Tech guy so it's all good
Hi, friends. Out of curiosity- how many #touches do you anticipate Tyreke Hill getting per game? Will he still be WR/RB/PR/KR ? Thanks and God Bless.
According to Nick Schaffer on 810 this morning all the sports talk people in Boston completely assume its a win and are upset the NFL gave them such a boring team to play on opening day.
it may be the beginning of the season optimism, but i think we have a more than 50% chance to beat them
My may concern is the way they opened the last two seasons. Completely flat. Hoping it was a playing down to your opponent thing.
It's even better because new England had a giant suck n fuck fest before the game over their super bowl wins and 'the comeback.'
