It is kinda interesting see how the course is set up for the women and how they're able to play it.
Also this Fred Ridley guy is extremely awkward. Miss Billy Payne
Guys, somehow Augusta National has managed to run a pretty nice tournament on a decent course for about 70 years. I think they will be ok in managing how the course is setup.
If it was 40 years ago I bet they’d give the winner a green skirt.
The girl that won played some very impressive golf on the back 9.
WOOOOOOO #Tiger Woods
Finally Masters week
Hello friends, and welcome to Masters Week.
They may not be the two favorites to win this week, but they will be my two favorites to see walk the hallowed grounds of Augusta National.
It’s bryson’s year
Sir, one more outburst like this and I’ll forced to turn this matter over to devine
If anybody would rank DJ, Rory, and Fleetwood, in order of who you think has the best chance of winning I would really appreciate it and thank you with a like.
anyone have a link to the guys blog that was posted last year? Does a pretty long preview series and also what he sees from the practice rounds
Agreed 100% with this. DJ doesn’t love moving the ball right to left, which negates his power on a few key holes.
Ray Floyd Jr? BackNineBlog or something like that.
That’s it. Thanks man
This year will be my 3rd time going on Tuesday. The previous 2 were 2000 and 2002. You do the math
“Without warming up”
I’m sure the dude with multiple back surgeries just hopped straight out of the Buick onto the first tee.
Downloaded the app
Very pissed I'm not there today. Going Friday instead.
Lol that’s come to be one of my favorite parts of the lead up
Take all of my energy undrtow
Put the house on Tiger.
*disregard when it storms tomorrow and we can't get in
I wish I was there today instead of tomorrow. For a week today looked like a wash with tomorrow being ok. Now it looks like tomorrow will have severe storms all day
are you going this weekend?
Unfortunately not. My wife is going Sunday but I couldn't swing a ticket
Should I feel ok about my Molinari bet?
The hell? This is grounds for divorce, imo
Her dad had 1 extra ticket. We've both been to multiple Saturday and Sundays. To be honest, practice rounds are much more enjoyable and I'd rather be somewhere to watch the tournament on the weekend
I can definitely see that. I much prefer watching sports on the tv rather than in person since I’ve gotten a little older
Edit: Still have to see Augusta National in person before I die, though
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing like the atmosphere of Sunday at the Masters. Since I've experienced it, I'd rather watch golf. You see very little golf while there. Either follow groups for a few holes or sit in one spot while everyone comes through. Every year I have people asking "did you see that shot ______ hit on hole ___?" Answer is typically no, I have it dvr'd
I've had this experience so many times. I've never been on Sunday but have every other day. The odds of you seeing x shot are slim. I still never turn down a trip but I have enjoyed watching Sundays on TV
I've never been but I would prefer Thursday or Friday to Sunday for the reasons you mentioned. Are the crowds similar for practice rounds?
Should feel great about it. I went all in on fleetwood this year. Scooped him up at 30-1 I think which is stupid good value for a guy who has shown he can play some
Golf in the majors.
Seems more crowded on weekends than practice rounds (excluding the par 3). Tuesday is easily my favorite day. Everyone is there and playing (some opt to use Monday as a range day), they're still laid back and will acknowledge and cut up with the patrons, Phil has his money game going, gift shop hasn't sold out of anything, can take pics, etc
Practice rounds are great because of the laid back nature and easier access to good players. I’ve been to all four majors (Wednesday at The Masters) and practice rounds are usually the highlight. I think my favorite experience other than just being at Augusta National was the 2015 Open at St Andrews. Round 3 which was the one that ended up getting called for wind. Just got hammered and admired the old course for 6 hours with no one playing.
Tuesday is the best spectator day as undrtow said. My favorite tournament day is Friday. All the players are still there and sitting on 18, later in the day, watching guys come up trying to make the cut is a great experience .
Justin Rose in the press room right now. Seems like a super nice guy
Thursday > Friday imo. Chillest vibe and fairly easy to follow a grouping before settling in at a Back 9 hole to see featured groups. But Saturday/Sunday are best. You just have to know what youre doing. Nothing is better than Saturday, unless you get Sunday magic and your group has a good setup at one the primary holes.
If youre just going to eat, shop, walk the course then practice rounds for sure b/c of crowds around the key areas of play. During Tiger's prime the crowds were not as spread out, so became too much once his pairing came thru.
Sunday is great if you get lucky. Sergio's year we got in the gate super early and got our chairs down 18. All the drama unfolded there so it was great to be there.
The previous year that Willett won, we had chairs on 16. We sat in the 12 bleachers all the way until Spieth melted down. Then we went to 16 to see if he could birdie and get back into it. At that point the tourney was over and we could just leave. If Spieth had birdied there was no way we were going to get up to 18 to see anything. But the people on 18 that year didn't see any of the drama and had to watch Willett cruise in.
Godddd Bryson is a TREMENDOUS douchebag
What’d he do this time?
