If you're all conference as an OL on fucking Rutgers, you're likely really good. Wisconsin-Ohio State typically gets half the spots by default. We've had 3 straight 1st team all American centers and not sure any of them deserved it, especially Jordan.
key word: Prep Hey this kid had over 10,000 passing yards, over 120 passing TDs and ran for 3500 yards and 68 rushing touchdowns on top!!! (That was in high school) but don't worry about that part, he will be awesome at VT since he was awesome at the school before Oregon!
We currently have no long snappers on the roster and are allegedly looking for one on the grad transfer circuit
I get that...However everything I've seen of this guy while at Oregon led me to believe he couldn't throw a football...like at all
He's probably never taking a snap at VT. We were down to 2 QBs on the roster. Since then, they tossed a mercy offer at a former JMU commit (who should have stayed with JMU), Hooker took his name out of the portal and is coming back, and they landed this kid so they're back up to 4 QBs for this season (BB has to sit out this season). The top 2 are well established, we just had no depth. This kid probably saw the writing on the wall with Oregon and probably sees it at VT as well but it's a change of scenery and my guess is he'll hang around until he gets a degree then grad transfer elsewhere. Oregon fans seem to think we got him to be our starter or something so they're going overboard with the reaction. We were in a bad way for depth for a little while and Fuente is really good with QBs so everyone will be happy, I think. I don't think anyone is expecting any sort of miracle here and the future clearly resides with Quincy Patterson going forward (likely 3 year starter).
the kid who should be finishing his spring semester in HS enrolled and was already a much better QB than him.
the local radio guys here tried to come up with starting NCAA college football QBs past and present that are/were worse than Hornibrook it was a short list
I’d say collegiate Hackenberg was better than Hornibrook by a long shot. Hackenberg actually had some worthwhile attributes (at one point). Hornibrook was just there to maybe sometimes remind the defenses the passing game exists but often was unable to do that.
Reggie Ball was the worst ever and he was a four year starter Hackenberg was not a bad college quarterback. He was average.
unc's starting qb for most of the last 1.5 is transferring to arkansas state as a grad assistant i will always be thankful for him being so bad and what it meant to getting larry fired but its always nice to see your starter not even be offered a spot at arkansas state
Hackenberg looked average because he played with so much talent. He was basically Hornibrook. He sucked ass.
Hack has 3000 more yards passing than Hornibrook but the TD/INT numbers are pretty much identical and pretty much everyone will agree that Wisconsin had the much better O-Line so there’s that
I know...and for some dumbass reason I feel compelled to defend him. I can’t explain it but I can’t help myself either.
We should land QB Nick Starkel of aTm today. I like him much much more than Ben Hicks and think he’ll win the job over Hicks but we’ll see. Familiarity with Hicks/Morris at SMU might give Hicks the edge but I think Starkel is much more talented.
He's also already used to drinking semen what with being from ATM so he'll have a head start on what's expected of him at Arkansas.
