WHAT THREAD AM I IN
It may take Calvin a while bc his career numbers dont match up but I think eventually he'll get in bc context of him retiring early will matter.
I'm not arguing usage... the stat is about production
A player cant have production without usage. Would Jacobs be a better player if D Harris and N Harris didnt play for Alabama and Jacobs had 300 carries this year?
It didn’t stop Chubb and Michel.
You may want to do some research dblplay1212 because you clearly have no idea what in the fuck you are talking about.
They didnt have a 3rd RB, a Heisman finalist QB, or a Biletnikoff winner.
I don't need to do research to say your production based stat without context is stupid.
Bama didn’t have elite backs.
He was a FR with 81 carries. UGA also only threw the ball 20 times a game. The run game was their focus bc they didnt have much of a passing game.
Bama will have 2 of the 3 top backs taken this year. Maybe the top 2. They aren't Barry Sanders but that's pretty good for a college team.
Weird flex but this is a shit rb class.
holy shit yall
You think this is a good rb class?
Based on what? Bama having two RBs in the draft?
I think it's funny that you've turned to "This RB class sucks!" bc you realize your original argument was dumb.
What argument? All I did was post stats. You think that’s arguing?
You havent posted a single stat.
This is a terrible RB class and Jacobs is a meh prospect at best. FACTS
Bottom line, it's really dumb to ding Jacobs for overall production when it was due to usage. He was surrounded by top tier talent across the board on offense. Both Harris' were going to get touched. The Biletnikoff winner and the other WR's were going to get theirs. The likely 1st TE to be taken was going to get his. There's only 1 ball to go around.
Jacobs may be good. He may suck. Him having low production bc of only 140 touches bc he was surrounded by a lot of really good players wont determine that.
Literally both opinions.
It's not low production... Its god awful production and its based over three years at bama. Lets not pretend as if Bama was slinging that rock his first two years at Bama.
So is saying that Jacobs didn’t have high usage solely because all the talent around him.
Jacobs can't get the starting job in three years at Bama. But he's totally a stud and gonna be amazing in the NFL - All Bama fans
I've never said he'd be amazing in the NFL. I havent even commented on him being good or bad. I've only commented on your stat.
I have no idea what's going on here but Calvin Johnson is a HOFer
I'm sure it has nothing to do with the data showing your favorite teams rb being a bust...
Barry Sanders had worse production in his first 2 years at OSU.
*not saying Jacobs is Sanders. Just saying overall production without taking usage into context is dumb. Your stat would have said Sanders sucked if he came out in 87 bc it wouldn't take Thurman Thomas being there into account.
It has everything to mocking your self-perceived draft guru status.
Who is the Thurman Thomas in your scenario at Alabama?
Bankz soup dbl slapfest
TMB circa 2012
I've never said anyone at Bama was equal to Sanders or Thomas. It's just an example of an elite player having low production bc he was behind another elite player. Its showing why the stat sucks, not that someone at Bama is Thurman Thomas. Why is that so hard for you to grasp?
I'm going to play 2k.
If Sanders would have left after his 2nd year(which he wasn’t even able to do).
Owned us dbl.
No he didn't... Stop bullshitting
Barry - 9.4, 14.25, 48.24
Jacobs - 10.58, 7.27, 11.32
At no point did Jacobs even top Barry's sophomore production numbers. He's production is THAT terrible.
I've never once claimed to be such... keep on being a homer. We all know if I made this statement about a Auburn or Georgia RB you would be jerking it off in the corner.
Hey guys i'm totally not comparing the two but i'm going to use them to well compare the two.
Sanders had 183 touches for 986 yards. Jacobs had 159 touches for 1175 yards.
It's a pretty famous example of one player being held back from usage due to another good player at his position. Sorry you cant grasp that.
you don't even understand the data you are arguing against... fucking clown show
I'd love to see you spin the numbers to show Sanders having better production as a Fr and So than Jacobs. Jacobs had better production across the board. But please, please spin it.
The first person that comes back in 2 years and says I predicted Jacobs to be Sanders will get stabbed in the dick.
Will someone thread ban these idiots?
With all this talent these guys should win the title easily
Oh yeah lets ban guys discussing draft prospects in a draft thread... the horror you fucking dipshit
I dont disagree.
I don't need to spin. I just calculate it correctly. Learn the data before you shit on it.
Please break down the numbers that show the guy that did less per touch was better.
