Giants cant trade for Russell Wilson after signing Golden Tate
Cliffs: Aaron Rodgers is a prick.
So wait -- why is Rodgers still there?
I know he's one of the best, but still. Sounds toxic af.
i’ve always been on Team Rodgers Family so its nice to be on the right side for once
That was a really interesting read. And it's not like it was a hit piece, because the guy went out of his way to lay out the defense of everyone involved. The funny thing to me about it is Rodgers basically comes across as Michael Jordan in this piece from a personality standpoint, and people deify Jordan for all those traits because his teams won all those titles.
Yeah, that was the easy comparison after reading. Ultra-sensitive and emotional, surrounds himself with lackies that don't question him, completely lacking in self-awareness/perception. In fairness, Mike McCarthy is, and always was, just the worst. His 'offense' was just crap and he should have been ritually murdered after those field goals on 4th and goal from the 1 against Seattle. Should have won that game, and the Super Bowl that year, and should have been fired right then. I get having bitterness at having to deal with that buffoon.
Will be interesting to see if Rodgers can adapt, history, with that personality type, says no. I'm a huge Rodgers fan, but last year was ugly and he was as big a cause as anyone.
All that piece was missing to cement the Rodgers/Jordan personality comp was Rodgers punching Jeff Janis.
One thing I was surprised at in the piece was how much he detailed Ted Thompson's decline. Its been hinted at and some have suggested that the Packers have ordered that to be off limits. Hell, not even Bob McGinn has gone there.
Perhaps Dunne knows he's not going to get credentials at Lambeau anymore and just kept going.
And Mike McCarthy is a garbage ass HC.
#New York Jets
As a Packers fan it was more harsh toward Rodgers than MM. The part about him telling receivers to run different routes and then they get chewed out by the coaches for running the wrong route is troubling. How are they supposed to develop in that setting?
Now, they have a good record of developing receivers with him from Adams going back. So I tend to think it's either exaggerated or a new phenomenon.
Unpopular opinion, I don’t hate that one.
I don't hate them nearly as much as I did yesterday. The helmets are sweet.
I like them
the helmets are great
Trying to go back to the early Keyshawn days
yes the GOAT Jets unis
The shoulder and pants stripe kill them. Get rid of those and they’re actually pretty sweet.
yeah they look better in person imo
Those uniforms are atrocious. Look like a north Texas or AAF team
They look like they were made from the same template as the chargers jerseys
The pants are really bad, I like the jerseys.
As a Jets fan it could have been a lot worse. Overall not bad. Really like the black on black alternates
Disagree with this. They painted the picture that McCarthy considers himself an offensive guru whose offense actually sucks and only worked because of Rodgers. And, by the way, McCarthy quit on the team to the point that it's widely believed that he skipped team meetings to get massages.
The Rodgers stuff is basically "he's an asshole who is awesome at football, but over the years the asshole part has gotten in the way of the football part more and more because he had no respect for his coach, who was stupid."
The uniforms would be a lot better if they had actual fucking Jets on them.
awful awful awful
Both of them are really poor leaders, that was a point they drove home multiple times. It’s resulted in different problems for the organization they each are responsible for
Agreed, but the Rodgers stuff is "he's a great QB who isn't a great leader." The McCarthy stuff is "you probably don't ever want him coaching your football team." Not saying it isn't fair, but in terms of "harshness," I think the McCarthy stuff is harsher because no one can deny the greatness of Rodgers as a player.
An updated version of this would have been cool and good.
I guess when I said it was worse I meant coming from a Packers fan that there's still that baggage we have to deal with. In other words, not all of the problems left with McCarthy getting fired.
I seriously question how it's going to work with LeFleur saying he doesn't want to give the QB free reign to audible at the line. Supposedly his play calls all have options but he doesn't like straying from those options at the line.
I get that part in terms of a Packers fan. Anything about Rodgers in that story would be harsher than all of the stuff about McCarthy in that way.
Those Jets uniforms are really, really bad.
WHO NEEDS BAKER MAYFIELD
hey whats wrong with sterling shepard
He’s not OBJ is my guess. These Giants guys just live to be pissed all the time.
Shepard is a JAG without OBJ
Weren’t Shepherd’s (and Engram’s) numbers better when OBJ missed time?
His counting stats might have been better in drastically more opportunities but pretty sure his catch rate and passer rating when targeted plummeted significantly
i'm going to have to disagree with you there
Shepard without OBJ last year:
Game 13: 2 catches, 17 yards, 1 TD (6 Targets)
Game 14: 2 for 37, 0 TD (9)
Game 15: 6 for 113, 0 TD (7)
Game 16: 4 for 67, 0 TD (9)
Me and the facts agree to disagree with you
