That seems like a lot to give up for Frank Clark
what the hell chiefs
Read earlier that they are expected to be in London next year.
I think my level of hate will depend on the contract #s
Switching defenses, need more 4-3 ends is the only real reason I can think of
That escalated quickly
Frank Clark is a stud. But surprised they want to add another domestic abuser to the squad considering the hill stuff
i guess they really don't give a shit about dv
lol. The little optimism I had about it is basically gone.
The Chiefs love fielding a team full of pieces of shit
lol good lord
Yes, the Chiefs gave up a lot for Frank Clark but their inability to convince Greg Hardy to come out of retirement really forced their hand.
So basically a three year deal at 21 a piece?
Part of me wants to be upset at how much we gave up for Frank Clark. But after seeing Veach draft last year I'm convinced he would have fucked up the 27th overall pick so might as well trade it away for an asset who can start from Day 1.
Just need Jeffrey Simmons and can have the all time violence against women squad!
Veach got fucking worked by the Seahawks
Can’t have a history of first round busts if you never have a first round pick
This is dumb and lazy. Not saying that this trade is good or anything, but that rationale is bizarre.
Dee Ford isn't a 4-3 DE, and doesn't stay healthy enough to warrant a huge contract. Justin Houston was very overpaid for the production the last 3 years, and wouldn't take a pay cut.
Have Chiefs fans figured out yet that Veatch is a Reid yes man and it will not end well on the personnel decision side of things outside of QB?
He very well could be, but I don't think using this defensive overhaul fits into that theory
Clark is a much better player than Dee Ford, while not having a ticking time bomb for a back.
Houston came down to the simple fact that he wasn't worth nearly 22 mil.
That's not the issue with the situation and it's a funny take.
It's all about the pendency of the charges
Tyreek might not even be short term.
I am fully expecting Reek to never wear a Chiefs jersey again
I think that was rather obvious from the start.
Veach wants to stack guys he and Andy want and transact like a Madden simulator.
Unlikely to be any changes but he's likely to be suspended.
Spagnuolo without a high end DE is asking to give up 35 a game
Apparently years 4/5 are options. I can live with 3/63 as long as he isn't dog shit.
With his kid getting taken away a few days ago, I think it's a foregone conclusion. Hell his entire career might be done.
Well said. Many don't realize that Ford was pretty much useless before last season. He had a solid season but he would get abused in the run game in a 4-3. Houston was a good player but Sutton insisted on dropping him into coverage 50% of the time. Take a premiere pass rusher and drop him in coverage.. bold strategy cotton.
Obligatory Dee Ford gif
Giving up a 1 and a 2 so you can pay Frank Clark $60M+ guaranteed and $20M+ per season seems like a little much.
Also, Frank Clark is crazy and I'm not sure that's what the Chiefs need right about now.
dee ford could have saved us from additional boston bullshit if he had just lined up onsides ffs
Not too shocking that they have to build through the draft after paying RW. The guys over a fieldgulls.com have a decent breakdown after this draft. I'd like to see them trade that 29th pick for some more pieces in the 2nd rd.
Not certain it’ll matter but
Trading 29 would probably be best, looking at the history of that slot.

2002 Marc Colombo T Boston College Chicago
2001 Ryan Pickett NT Ohio State St. Louis
That's a not great list for the last decade.
2 of those were good picks
What happened to Gabe Carimi? I thought he was going to be awesome.
There are some good players on that list. But it's the Seahawks picking in the first so trading it is probably a good call
Wasn't Mike Tice his OL coach?
Harrison Smith is good, yes. I'm guessing your 2nd guy would be Hakeem Nicks? He was pretty good for a few years.
Still sort of blows my mind that the Jags took Bryan.
