This makes me irrationally angry
November sucks for us when 2 of our last 3 games are road games every other year.
Missouri and A&M are to blame for all of this.
About god damned time
he’s not dead
Blue Tiger Club taking control
Lotta mad folks on ATL radio today
It’s a silly move
This shit is so dumb.
Yes it is dumb that we have to play away twice every other year.
But why move the entire fucking game?? Just go to Athens twice.
So Auburn will now play Aggies, shit game, shit game, Iron Bowl....thats an awful November
and now depending on year we are going to put it next to LSU and or ATM....it was fine where it was with cupcake in the middle....wish if this year turns into the expected train wreck we just go back to Athens
Changing another team's home/away schedule means reshuffling the entire SEC schedule, which isn't possible for like another 8 years. Going to Athens twice just gives UGA an unfair advantage with home games, and the SEC office isn't going to approve of that. This has been talked about at like every SEC media day the past 5 years
Then just keep it as is and we get two home games.
Not playing Auburn in November is all sorts of wrong.
Playing UGA in Sept is retarded
I think that would be my preference too, but you're pretty much throwing away every other season(if your goal is to eventually make the playoffs for once) before the season even begins by keeping things the way they are.
UGA made tge plays when they played us away.
It's the same fucking number of home/away anyways now we'll complain about UGA and LSU in 3 weeks.
We already have a shit FCS team built in between.
They already changed when the UGA game occurred schedule wise when they added the idiotic 12th game. There’s nothing sacred about when we play Georgia.
We've played uga Nov 15th ish for the last 50 years
I don't even know what you're trying to argue anymore. I'll see my way out of this one
We played Florida at the same time for 50 years too and we don’t even play them anymore
So they didnt change the UGA time. Cool.
I'd also be in favor of going back to playing UT and UF
Playing UGA in Sept is stupid. Period.
Our Nov schedule is now awful
Jesus Christ Arkansas this isn’t football...you shouldn’t be losing by three touchdowns after 7 minutes
Not that we’ll be in the playoff picture anytime soon, but our current setup is infinitely harder than any other program’s’. Perennial top 5>perennial top 3>SECCG>playoff game>title game is an impossible task for anyone. Even Bama would be lucky to finish above .500 over a stretch like that.
Quit pretending you care about basketball. You can’t even post your lolslaw shots in the right thread
wes tegg Where should I eat for breakfast and lunch in Oxford on Friday and Saturday? I've never been.
I'm jealous. Why are you in Oxford?
BREAKFAST 1. Big Bad Breakfast; 2. Bottletree Bakery; 3. Billup's
A lot of people will tell you the Beacon, but it's average at best and the only thing going for it is that it has been around forever. BBB is your best option, but it's crowded and will take a while. Bottletree is just a bakery, but if you want baked goods and good coffee, it's damned good. Billup's is good and relatively quick.
LUNCH 1. Ajax; 2. St. Leo; 3. City Grocery; 4. Boure
Ajax is a bomb-ass meat & three. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but the fried eggplant is a hidden gem among the sides. The meatloaf is fire if you like meatloaf, and the "Big Easy" is a bit of a novelty but also possibly the king of all sandwiches (chicken fried steak + mashed potatoes + butter beans + gravy on a bun). St. Leo is all around fantastic. They do a brunch, too, but I'm not sure if it's Sunday only. City Grocery is the OG and a staple. The shrimp and grits are hard to beat. Boure is good, but not great, but the atmosphere makes it when you sit outside overlooking the square.
If you can do dinner, check out Snackbar. In my opinion, it's Oxford's best restaurant. But, it's not open for lunch.
Awesome. Thank you.
My girlfriend is a bridesmaid in a wedding on Saturday so we're heading over there tomorrow night. The rehearsal dinner is at City Grocery. I'll have all day Friday and Saturday to kill with a couple other guys, so other than food, is there anything worth checking out? And where should we post up and day drink?
Ole Miss has a baseball game at 1:30, pack up a cooler and go hang out in the outfield
There's a baseball game Saturday afternoon at 1:30, which is worth checking out if you have time. You can bring a cooler and hang out in left field.
There are also several day drinking spots downtown. The Library is the GOAT college bar. City Grocery and the Summit Bar (what used to be the Burgundy Room) have patios over the square. Rooster's does, too. They're likely to have crawfish this weekend. The rooftop at the Graduate is a good time if the weather is good. If you want to observe a bit of NCAA history, drop into Funky's. The guy who owns it (Lee Harris) was Booster 10 in the NCAA bullshit. You won't want to stay there too long, though.
Awesome. Thanks a ton. I'll report back on my experience.
Where are y'all staying?
Will this affect UGA's traditional early September matchup with SCAR. TIA
Lost it’s luster now that they don’t regularly have a couple players suspended for it.
Sorry, we’re all full.
Yeah, full of shit
The Drake of the SEC
Boure and City Grocery were both great (although the shrimp and grits at City Grocery were a little cold, but they were also plating it for 75 people all at one time). We got a flatbread appetizer at Boure which was basically a whole pizza, so we had an entire uneaten pizza that we had to take to-go. That was clutch late night. The only other place on the list we made it to was Bottletree Bakery.
The Library is just your classic college shit show bar. I don't remember what song the band was playing, but it was some 90s song that anyone our age would have known every word to and been singing along. I looked around and not a single college kid was singing. I had to get the fuck out of there after that.
I remain shocked that there's not like 10 pedestrians hit a day around the square.
Where all else did y’all go?
We went to the rooftop bar at the graduate a couple times because that's where everyone was staying. Watched some basketball at the blind pig on Saturday. But that was pretty much it. Didn't do as much as I was hoping.
Nick Starkel transfers to Arkansas
Is that good?
He’s better than Hicks (SMU grad transfer we took) and we’ve got rid of 3 shitty QB’s and replaced them with guys that are actually somewhat competent. He’s got two years to play
With Hicks I don’t think we had a chance of a bowl. With Starkel I think we do.
Hopefully he likes losing to us
Just another former aTm QB to win the heisman
Hope this doesn’t affect our friendship dumpy
