I like Suso but the majority of his best games have come against the bottom tier teams. He disappears against the better teams in Italy. I wouldn't be mad if they triggered his release clause. He wont really have a role in the new system anyways unless they want to take him from wing to cam.
Oh god my stomach was twisted when I saw Lyon and Real Madrid and was desperately searching the gibberish language for N'Dombele's name.
Real Madrid having an awesome window so far. Going to be tough to do much more though unless they find a dumb club or two to take on the highly paid guys they don’t want anymore.
They would have to sell a good bit to make that realistic right? I love jovic but he seems like an unnecessary buy if you have a real shot at mbappe.
Fair enough. Obviously if you have a chance at mbappe you do everything you can to make it happen. PSG just need to sell Neymar to Manchester United and then give mbappe whatever he wants to stay happy but it seems like the psg owner loves Neymar. You think bale finds a new home? I can’t see anyone other than united wanting him.
Looks that way. Maybe Woodward has finally learned from some of his mistakes. I still think that if it was just a loan they would warm up to it but we will see. I just don’t see where bale would go if he were to leave Madrid.
I feel like I've said this after every summer window for the last 3 years. Don't fall for it. It's more like a broken clock being right twice a day. Example: there have been reports lately that he is still being caught off guard by inflated prices despite English players getting sold at a premium for at least a decade.
Funny thing is I got really into soccer (I’ve followed Bayern since I was a young buck, but not much else) because I got way too invested in FSU recruiting. Soccer took my time away from that. Little did I know that the transfer window is like college recruiting on meth.
1. Where does Griezmann play? There to take over for Suarez? 2. They are going to lose 30-40m on Coutinho in less than 18 months
They'll play all 3 together as much as possible I assume. Who's gonna pay more than 50 for Coutinho? China isn't allowed large transfer fees anymore. Don't see many options for Bale or him. Both clubs are gonna have to eat a large amount of money.
I want to say no but with today’s market it’s probably a steal. I remember when I thought 20 million for a keeper was absurd. But we paid 66 million last year and it was a bargain.
Yeah I just think based on his talent, marketability and age, buying him for that would be a better use of funds than 4-5 players at £50-60m who could be good or could be morata.
I think that may be going too far. I’m not sure why Chelsea thought Morata was with 60 million. But if you buy Alisson, Van Dijk and Salah for £187 you’re better off than Mbappé at £259
Because there's certain big clubs that chase after whoever the hot name at the time is, and spend way too much because of it.
Liverpool have made plenty of bad purchases as well. Not as many as us, United or arsenal but plenty. My point isn’t that mbappe is better than a best case scenario lookback of players bought with that money. It’s that he’s a sure thing which many of the premier league big purchases haven’t been. Heck Barca spent that on dembele and coutinho.
Who has Arsenal spent any real money on that’s been a failure, other than Mustafi? We don’t make that many bad purchases, we just don’t make purchases. lol. Forgot about Lucas Perez.
Yeah I’m not really disagreeing with you. It might be a less risky move but it’s not the best move. That’s all I’m saying. But your point about Coutinho even applies to Mbappé. He’s only ever played for Monaco and PSG in Ligue 1. No guarantee he would walk into Liverpool or Chelsea and dominate like you and I think he would.
