Perhaaaaps if Eriksen is sold and we don't get Lo Celso? Think he'll be worth it in time, he's 19, but not quite yet. An interesting combination of height and skill.
Zaniolo being moved this summer seems highly unlikely unless Roma is blown away with a offer. The owner loves the kid and plans to build the team around him. Not saying a transfer can’t happen but you probably need to send a offer double his value (40m) to get a deal done. I can’t see anyone spending 80 on this kid just yet.
Still nuts to me that he was part of the Radja deal. Italian clubs don't seem to value youth as much as English clubs.
Italian clubs have learned to use these young kids to balance the books. Youth is all capital gain. So teams who run a deficit normally include these kids in deals to smudge the numbers and show they are turning profits. Zaniolo was a good prospect but I don't believe anyone really expected him to be this good this soon. Hell Roma didn't even play him early on. It was Mancini who played him on the national team first and he impressed and finally got playing time with Roma. Same thing happened with Kean at Juventus. He was riding the bench all season till Mancini gave him a starting role on the National team and it forced Juve to play him. Now he's being rumored in a Icardi for Kean swap.
Lo Celso has officially submitted a transfer request. I imagine we get this done for around the same fee as Ndombele within the next week or so.
I’m honestly surprised that united have even gotten this much as an offer. I can’t imagine that inter can offer too much more and still be FFP complaint unless someone pays good money for icardi.
£54m is a joke of an offer when Chelsea have already gotten around the same price for Morata in this window.
Something needs to give in this whole CF saga. Icardi, Dzeko, Higuain, and Lukaku all caught in limbo and seemingly no one wants to blink.
You could also say if luka jovic is worth £60m than lukaku isn’t worth 50. I wouldn’t look at any deal between Chelsea and Atlético Madrid as your baseline. We have had some odd transfer dealings with them over the years and there seems to be agents friendly to both teams who meddle plenty in some of these transfers. Morata simply isn’t worth what Chelsea got for him under any circumstance. If inter can’t afford the fee that united want to sell him for, maybe a loan ends up being the solution like we originally did for Morata.
I just can’t see how icardi to juve makes any sense but I guess if they sell keen with a buyback option and get Roma to take higuian the can fit him in? Personally I wouldn’t want to put a personality like icardi in that squad. Feels like more bad than good can come from that.
I don't think we should be comparing anything to the Dunk, Maguire, and Morata prices. They were all stupid prices that shouldn't set the market.
According to Italian media the offer is broken up in three installments. Like 15m for the loan. Then 20m and 20m the next two summers. Also inter are out of FFP problems but I would imagine they don’t have enough talent to balance the budget unless they make a deep run into the champions league so that’s why they structure the deal in payments over three summers
(yes on more appearances) but doesn't Lukaku have more club goals since August 2017 in an arguably tougher league? Not to mention Lukaku's international resume since then....
Jovic is 21, Lukaku's main problem is he hasn't improved in years and he offers nothing besides goals and he's not all that consistent in that category
Lukaku has started 55 games for United and has 28 league goals. Jovic has 25 in 33 starts. Minutes were 5000 to 3300. Lukaku also played in a much better team which negates some of the fact that the EPL is a better league. I don’t dislike Lukaku to the extreme that some due but there is a reason that everyone wanted jovic and no one except inter want lukaku.
