I was hoping to go to a European festival this summer, but I’m not entirely sure that’s going to be possible travel wise.
I had a spotify presale for yesterday. Was lucky we have 3 nights, seemed like a lot of ppl did the Third Man Records vault thing.
I wonder if all festivals look down this year because of the weirdness of the last two years. but $$$$ has to come in to play if Forecastle looks like that. It moved from July to Memorial Day Weekend too
I feel ticket prices have skyrocketed for all concerts. These artists missed a lot of checks as well I'm guessing. So their fees are higher. It has to be a cluster fuck.
No way all these DJs planned on no source of income for 18 months. Now I’ve seen multiple shows in the same city within 6 months. Gotta replenish the coffers.
I meant DJs doing multiple shows in the same city in six months. Festivals, club headliner, etc. I haven’t personally gone, just that I’ve seen the advertisement.
Spoiler Greetings friends! I built a site that will automagically create a customized Spotify playlist for you based on the lineup of a festival you choose. I hope it'll help some of you find some new undercard artists if you're less than stoked on the overall lineup. It's gotten some good feedback for other festivals (some of you might have seen it posted on reddit before). The URL is lineuplist.live It will give you a full list of every artist playing, and you can customize the playlist by removing specific artists, changing the number of tracks added for each artist, and (imo, the best part) choosing how the tracks are selected. You can build the playlist from an artist's most popular music, newest released albums, or what they've performed in their most recent setlists. There's an FAQ page as well that explains the functionality in more detail and why I built it, but if you're like me you've probably experienced firsthand how annoying it is to search through every single artist on a lineup on Spotify to add some of their songs to a playlist. For the technologically inclined or curious, all of the code is open source, but please don't judge me too much by it. I am very much a firmware/hardware guy, and web development is clearly not my forte as you can tell by how bare the site looks. Let me know here on reddit or through the email link in the FAQ if you have any questions or something seems wrong!
