For either the vet minimum or the 3.6 bi-annual exemption it's not bad value. He's better than what our backup was last year in Brad Wannamaker
I forgot that Teague was still in the league tbqh
Interesting. Thought this would be off the table after the Hornets waived Batum. I'll take a big ass trade exception.
I did too. He played for the Twolves and Hawks last year and I doubt I watched a single one of their games.
MAKE IT HAPPEN
I kinda want the Mavs to go and get Marc Gasol
he would fit the “add toughness” offseason plan plus playing on the Mavs is kinda like playing in Europe
Dallas is the Paris of America.
It's not even the Paris of Texas
God damnit Clippers
Berlin of Texas?
Slovenia of Texas more like it
I was, but that roster isn't attractive
Let’s go #Phoenix Suns
ouch looks like you guys are stuck with devine still
Me when I heard Gordon was leaving
Me when I heard hours later a sign and trade was still being discussed
Gasol going to the Clippers would burn a bridge for a lot of Grizzlies fans.
That whole "LAC lost Harrell to the Lakers" thing was short lived. I'd much prefer Ibaka to Harrell, and they needed a vet who has played in big games and won something in that mix.
yeah id say they came out ahead here
i dont know what folks predicted but thats a good number for ibaka imo
tough beat for tony durant as well
Only way he was getting more than that was if he went to a shit team or Toronto paid him big on a one-year deal. Sucks for guys like him that none of the contenders could spend because I would think he would have done a lot better in a market like next summer figures to be.
If Toronto doesn’t resign Gasol, they’ll only have one big under contract with a guaranteed salary in Siakam. And they are over the cap. Resigning Chris Boucher is going to be a pretty big priority, I imagine. Then they will need to use the non-taxpayer MLE to sign another one.
You talking about next summer? Or next season?
At the very least, FVV is going back on big money for the next 4 years.
Yeah but the clippers still have Paul George
I am displeased the Clippers got Serge because he'll help them a lot and i want them to implode. I am also displeased the Celtics got TT, because he'll help them a lot and i was enjoying shawn's anguish. Really tough evening.
Didn’t think I’d be saying this after the last few years, and granted he’s doing all this after the Lakers win it all, but Rob Pelinka has done a great job this week.
Is there any potential left in Harry Giles?
wasnt sure if the knee injuries have ruined any chances
I was kinda hoping the Thunder would go for a buy low contract on him. Those highlights of him passing from back in his rookie year were pretty nice
He has shown flashes but hasn't been able to carve out a consistent role in Sacramento. Look at February last season, once of the few lengthy stretches he had a somewhat consistent role in terms of minutes. I assume the Kings had some injuries at that point, which likely forced them to play him more. 22.0 minutes, 11.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 63.5% shooting. In his only two 20+ minute games in the bubble, he had 12 and 8 and 12 and 11.
His per 36s for his career: 17.5 points, 6.5 fouls (yikes), 1.0 blocks, 1.3 steals, 3.5 assists, 9.9 rebounds, 53.1% two point percentage (increased to 55.8% in his second season after 51.2% in his first). Doesn't get to the foul line much at 3.4 attempts per 36 but he was 63.7% there as a rookie and increased it significantly to 77.6% in his second year.
He also switched to almost exclusively playing center this year after spending 2/3 of his minutes as PF as a rookie. At 6-11, 240, that is likely his best position moving forward the way the game has gone in recent years.
If they get Bogdan, the Hawks are reaching a point where they won't have to give serious minutes to any of their draft picks other than Trae, so I understand and approve of this course of action
i really want to see Gasols passing on that team, would be fun
just not sure what he's got left since in the playoffs he couldn't get his shot to drop at all
He was largely awful at everything in the Boston series from what I remember
Cam Reddish can't shoot 40 percent if he can't shoot
well yeah that's a terrible matchup for his skillset (especially if his shot isn't falling), but i also try not to let small sample sizes cloud everything else out
