Defensive analyst to OC is quite the promotion
Gotta go behind enemy lines to earn your stripes
Any time you have the chance to upgrade programs, you just do it
He was pretty awesome under Petrino
Well, I’m interested in this. Don’t know anything about him though.
apparently it’s just as QB coach
I think think black coaches are more likely to advance in the NFL than college going forward. I think there are 12 black coaches in FBS right now, and I think the rules changes the NFL put in place in the last year will create more coordinator spots for black coaches that they aren't getting in CFB. The NFL has also created multiple minority coaching jobs as basically internships on every staff to try to increase the number of black coaches around the league.
The history of diversity hires in the NFL and CFB are both abysmal. The HC hires this year on both levels suggests it's as bad as it's ever been. I just think the NFL is at least aware of the issue and trying to do something about it, while the $$ disparity in CFB on these coaching staffs seems to be taking the trend in the opposite direction at a lot of places. The NFL is now creating a scenario where if you don't promote coaches you will likely lose them to one of 31 other teams paying the same salaries. In CFB, the big boys don't have to promote position coaches to coordinators because those coaches are getting paid too much to leave for a promotion elsewhere.
Yeah taking the UAB job was an awful decision that kinda fucked him, he was too early for Saban's coaching rehab. I would've looked elsewhere.
Pop that champagne #Miami Hurricanes fans
Worst Miami DC in 20 years?
No DNoferio was shit pure shit
He ever give up 778 yards?
At least Blake had bright spots, NoD's best game was against UF and that was it.
I’m not sure where you found those bright spots
he was awful. I’ll never understand why it took manny 2 years of watching that guy run the defense before he decided to take over
Yeah he was absolutely terrible
Dnofrio just has a longer resume of being shitty
Manny at least had the balls to take the playcalling, otherwise Baker would have eventually gotten the title as worst DC
He might have local ties but I don’t think there is much to love
Yeah he might not be calling plays for you, but our linebackers last year were literally some of the worst in program history
The starting linebacker for the first 10 games actually changed positions for the bowl game he was so bad
Tigah what the fuck
The Ed o hired a first time DC and one of the worst DC’s in the sport to help him?
Saving this for later. No shot you feel this way a year from now.
Bob Shoop any good?
u should hire him immediately
He apparently did something bad enough to be moved to an off field role this season. He wasn’t ever fired though, so who knows what the issue was.
He was a good DC for Vandy
This bank shot dig at Wells, combined with the avi, prompted my wife to ask me what I was giggling about.
A PART. IT’S TWO WORDS PEOPLE.
Lookin like a broke ass Trooper Taylor.
As OC he likes to rotate the sides of the OL. So a guy will play RT one play and then LT the next, depending on which side is the strong side of the line.
He's a good interview, but he might also be a con man.
he read the gator boards comments about his hiring right before they took the pic
As of now, it sounds like Shoop is an off field hire
Urban is interviewing Brian Jean-Mary for a spot on his coaching staff because he's Urban and he likes to fuck with Harbaugh.
