Yeah well we played like shit in one of these tourneys two years ago and went to the title game so big deal
Spoiler The term first appeared in 1989, the first year under head coach Dave Snow. Inheriting a program that was mired in an extended stretch of sub-par seasons, Snow began his tenure (partly by necessity) by focusing his recruiting efforts on prospects who had been overlooked by higher-profile programs, with an emphasis on finding "hard-nosed guys with something to prove."[16] Over the course of the season, infield coach Dave Malpass would routinely take his players to a local (all-dirt) Pony League field for practices, which Malpass wryly termed "Dirtbag Field." As the season progressed, the label was adopted by the players and coaches as symbolic of the tough and gritty mindset that Snow and his staff were cultivating.[16] That year the team (which had finished 14–45 the year before Snow arrived) fought its way to an unexpected 50–15 record, and the school's first ever berth in the College World Series. Nearly 30 years later, the Dirtbag name continues to be worn with distinction by players old and new.[47
this weekend should be a lot of fun to follow IMO Vandy @ UCLA Friday night with games vs TCU/USC after that FSU/Duke Rice/TTU Fullerton/Texas K-St/Stanford Michigan/Pepperdine Indiana/San Diego UCSB/Oregon St Oregon/Hawaii Illinois/Elon it's weird seeing Boise St games listed in the weekly schedule. Nice to see
Warren Nolan has the Vols SOS at 205. Glad they are ranked. Our two best starters haven't even pitched yet.
Florida Gators are our greatest baseball and basketball rivals and we’re clearly on a collision course.
This is a good scheduling move. Next year, on the first weekend of conference play, the American will put on a pair of four-team, round-robin tournaments hosted by Central Florida and South Florida. The tournaments will count as conference games and, over the next seven weeks, the teams will play conventional three-game series, giving them a total of 24 conference games. How the teams will be divided into pods for the opening weekend tournaments has not yet been decided but will involve a formula to help balance the fields.
Michigan in town to play Stanford and Cal in the mid-week before a trip to San Diego. Those kids have quite a student experience
very interested to see what happens with VU's rotation this weekend Ethan Smith went 2 IP today vs Central Arkansas and Leiter went 1 IP. Dores with a 10-2 W to improve to 11-3. Michael Doolin with 5 SO/1 BB in 2 IP
Ugh, I hate playing RPI bombs at home. It’s a no win situation. But I’m sure you guys will get your RPI into the top 65 by the time you come to Oxford.
Losing all that experience from last year is definitely showing. We’ve got a lot of talent, just hasn’t clicked yet. We are mentally one of the dumbest teams I’ve ever seen. When your team leaders are a meathead in Kjerstad and a hillbilly from Lonoke (Martin), it’s gonna be tough to draw out some leadership.
N.C. state beats coastal Carolina 24-7 today in 7 innings. Pack got out to I think a 19-0 lead after 3 innings. NCSU at 12-0 heads to UVA this weekend
Good news for the Vols a week away from SEC play. Friday starter who hasn't played yet Coach Tony Vitello: Garrett Crochet should see some action over the next 4 games.
Ginn officially out for the year with elbow surgery. Allen out indefinitely after wrist surgery. No telling how this year is going to turn out now. Need some people to step up big time.
Our Friday night starter missing this weekend with an oblique strain. Everything looking great in Arkansas no worries guys
Dores announce TBA as starters for each game this weekend So likely no Hickman or Rocker again. Sigh And I'll be at your game Friday. Hopefully they can handle the pressure that comes with my presence
Stanford gonna be limiting attendance at events over the next two weeks due to coronavirus concerns Can't imagine their baseball attendance could be much worse but we'll see
Today we're all Cowboys because Oklahoma St got a 2-0 result over BYU on a day that school made news for some cruel shit
