Husker baseball is on a winning streak. Spoiler two games. If we don’t sweep this weekend I’ll be surprised. Playing Columbia.
Pepperdine getting after it vs Michigan. Waves should be very good this year Vols make the top 25 and immediately lose to Wright St, who has a decent program
KSU taking advantage of Cardinal errors in T5. 4-1 EMAW to B5 Dores got down 3-0 vs UCLA but are battling back. Now 3-2 to B5 in LA
Heard a scout say KSU has really stepped up their recruiting lately. #35 for them is missing tons of bats. Filthy really
Hawaii leading Oregon 10-2 in the 6th right now. Hopefully the Rainbow Warriors take that series Cal now 3-10 after losing to USF. Stanford now 4-9 after tonight's L to K-State. Bay Area P5 schools not turning it around so far this weekend Carson Seymour for EMAW tonight: 6 IP, 2 H, 1 R (unearned), 9 SO/2 BB on 97 pitches. Simply stellar stuff from that kid. Brett Lockwood got the save going 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 4 SO/1 BB on 39 pitches. That was an impressive combined pitching performance. Was a chilly and windy night and it eventually got misty, but those two just went out and shoved Stanford tried to get cute or some shit and went with an opener. Normal Friday starter Brendan Beck came in during the 2nd inning and went 6 IP, 6 H, 5 R (1 earned), 11 SO/2 BB on 108 pitches. Was flashing some nasty stuff. But he came in facing a deficit because the opener gave up a run. Then Beck got absolutely fucked by his defense as KSU scored 3 runs I believe after two dropped fly balls (one by the LF and one by the C). Was uplifting to be around KSU fans Clayton Beeter for TTU vs Rice: 6 IP, 6 H, 1 R (unearned), 12 SO/0 BB on 92 pitches. Then Micah Dallas went 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 5 SO/1 BB on 39 pitches. Sick. Lol, Rice is 2-11 Cal Poly with a 2-1 W over Baylor in 11 innings. Cal Poly's starter needed 120 pitches to get through 6 innings UCSB with a #shutty at Oregon St, 6-0. OSU starter and Reno native Christian Chamberlain struck out 10 batters in 5 innings for the Beavers. UCSB won a game 6-0 despite only having 1 hit all game. OSU was held to just 2 hits. Oregon St pitchers racked up 14 Ks but also walked 9 batters and hit another
Fullerton now 4-10 after a 6-1 L to Texas, who improved to 11-3. Bryce Elder went 6.2 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 5 SO/3 BB on 112 pitches for the Horns Pepperdine racked up 16 hits (only two for extra bases from what I can tell) vs Michigan today in an 11-2 W in Malibu. Wil Jensen is really good: 6 IP, 4 H, 2 R (1 earned), 8 SO/2 BB on 99 pitches Rocker went 3 IP, 2 H, 3 R (2 earned), 7 SO/4 BB on 68 pitches. Umpire was apparently pretty bad tonight so willing to brush that off and hope he bounces back big time next week vs UK. Freshman and LA native Sam Hliboki went 5 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 SO/1 BB on 57 pitches. It's criminal the offense couldn't do something to erase that deficit looking at that kid's numbers. He's special. UCLA starter Zach Pettway now 3-0 after going 6 IP, 3 H, 2 R (1 earned), 4 SO/0 BB on 73 pitches Louisville now 10-3 after a 4-1 W over Wake Forest. Detmers went 6 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 15 SO/2 BB on 107 pitches. Wake starter Ryan Cusick K'd 11 batters in 5 IP but needed 103 pitches to do so
Seminoles streak of 40 win seasons will likely end this year Will be a fight to keep the postseason streak alive Fitting that it's at the hand of the result of 11's own special sauce
Probably wait another month to start compiling the list from you fellas of guys who wouldve been a better hire than cockmeat jr
it's in years like those that mid-week games become super important. And I guess in that sense it sucks you play Florida three times ha I did not know D1Baseball publishes a stat roundup each night with game scores for pitchers. Fucking sick. Central Arkansas dude with a no-hitter vs SELA. Ball St dude with 17 Ks https://d1baseball.com/roundup/stat-roundup-friday-march-6-top-performers/
looks like Michigan is flipping the script on Pepperdine today, up 7-0 in the 6th inning heading over to watch Cal vs USF here soon. Goal is to watch three college baseball games in three different cities this weekend
USC with a 2-1 W over Vandy. Not gonna get much done when you're scoring 3 runs over 18 innings vs P5 competition Cal evened the series with USF with a 6-1 W on an absolutely gorgeous day. Rubber match in Berkeley tomorrow
UCF moves to 14-2 and gets the shutty over Butler. 3 midweek games with FSU and Miami and a series with ECU in the next two weeks should provide a good test.
Travis Jewett has Tulane 12-2. Haven't played a tough schedule yet but they couldn't have expected Fullerton to be this bad and they're taking care of business. They've got LBSU next weekend with Dallas Baptist and Wichita St after that so those should be fun series to follow and we should get a sense of how good they actually are. If Tulane finishes the year with a Regional appearance, I bet Jewett will get serious looks if someone like Arizona St or So Car makes a change
oh and we spotted Rice a 7-0 lead by the 3rd inning & still won 19-12. Rice’s bullpen is hilariously bad
State gets past mighty quinnipiac 5-4 with a dribbler infield walk off. Our bats are going to struggle this year.
Kjerstad walks off South Alabama to win 5-3 and take the series. Still only a 2-2 week so we’ll drop some more. Good to see us win a couple after a rough last week
Vandy just beat them on a walk-off walk. So they go home in frustration. Huge for VU to come away with a W after two 1-run losses
